CHAPTER NINE
I couldn't sleep. My heart is pounding the whole time, it just prevents me from sleeping. I sit up on my bed, finally giving up. I really can't sleep. I let out a frustrated sigh, scratching the back of my head. I kept waiting to hear the sound of their motorbikes but everything is quiet. Too quiet.
I turned to look at my study table to check the time. The clock there said it's already past 11. It's almost midnight, where are they? Takeomi should at least go home right? Tomorrow's a school day so he has to go home or else his grandma will worry. And me too! I have a lot of questions to ask him.
What could've happened? Last time they were so beat up, so this time I'm more worried and scared. I grab one of my pillows and pressed it on my face before I let out a groan.
They should have just did as I said. Fighting isn't the only way. They should've just ignored that crazy third year and he'll eventually ignore us too. Being the bigger person isn't bad in a situation like this, they should've just grabbed the chance and be the bigger person by ignoring that guy.
Ugh! All this worrying is giving me a headache. I heave a sigh, messing with my hair in frustration. And like a bolt of lightning, electricity coursed through my veins at hearing the sound I've been waiting for this whole time.
Motorbikes!
I jolt up from my bed, rushing to my window to peek through it. I saw a light, probably from a motorcycle, from afar, getting close to the direction of my house. That's definitely Takeomi!
I turn away from my window and grabbed a jacket to protect myself from the cold. I opened my door immediately and was ready to go but then I saw the door of my parent's room. Right, my mother's home. I calmed down a little before closing my door quietly.
I made my way towards the stairs carefully, glancing at the door every now and then. Once I reached the stairs, I went down quickly on my tiptoes to prevent from making any noise. A sigh of relief left my lips the moment I reached the first floor.
When I opened the door, oh so quietly, cold breeze of the night welcomed me, making me shiver. I closed the door carefully and then went straight to the gate to peek at the incoming motorcycle. I was right, it's Takeomi, but it's not only him.
Another bike is behind him and I'm pretty sure it's Sano-kun. Takeomi stopped just in front of his house. I carefully opened the gate, mentally slapping myself when it let out a small squeak. I glance back at our house and gladly no lights were turned on.
I completely opened the gate and let myself out, making my way towards Takeomi immediately. As I rush towards him, I tried to make out his face, which is a bit hard with the blinding lights of their bikes. There I saw just a small gash on his cheek.
