Emmeline pov
We made a stop in Dallas to grab something to eat and Mark had a few things to do in Dallas. I got out of my car and did a full stretch, being in the car for long hours really tires you out.
I looked over to Mark and saw him talking to his men. He didn't look to happy about whatever he was talking to them about, but I minded my own business and pulled out my phone.
I saw unread messages from my aunt and Chris. I opened them up and sighed, my aunt was angry as she used hurtful name calling through text and Chris was reminding me that I couldn't run from him.
I sighed and turned off my phone as I ran my thumb over the screen. I then threw it on the ground and broke it, making it shattered the screen and split open. I picked it up and popped open the back. There was a small chip that was a tracking device, my aunt put it in there when I was younger I'm surprised that they didn't find me when I was missing.
"You good?" I heard mark say behind me. I turned around and sighed, I showed him the small chip that was in my phone. "I forgot about this, I'm surprised that they haven't catches up to us." I said handing it to him.
"No, I've made it very clear that they shouldn't follow." He said handing it to one of his men. "Make sure this is kept safe. I want to see if they are actually following us." Mark said. One of his men nodded his head and walked back over to the cars.
"Come on, let's grab something to eat. I'll need it." He said walking towards the restaurant we were at, I looked at him confused what he meant by what he said. I shrugged it off and continued to follow to the restaurant.
I sat at a table with Mark and some of his guys, "welcome to our restaurant, what would you like to get started today?" The waitress asked with a smile. "I'll have just a burger and a tea." Mark said handing her back the menu. The lady turned to me and waited for me to order, "uh, I'll have the same but with a lemonade." I said handing her the menu back.
She asked Marks men and once she gotta everyone's order down she took the menus and left. "Alright, we have 4 hours to drive. After we eat I just need to make a pick up for someone and we'll get back to driving." Mark explained to me.
I nodded my head that I understood and leaned back and took a deep breath. "You are just like your father, doesn't have lots to say but with your eyes you are saying so much." He said with a chuckle.
I looked at him and smiled, I ran my hand through my hair which had gotten pretty long over the past few months. "Why white?" Mark asked as he looked at my hair. I shrugged my shoulders, I though it would be cool. But now that I mess with it I kinda want to change it." I said as I pushed my hair back.
The waitress came back with our food, "enjoy your meal." She said before leaving. "How about we go get it cut and dye. So you can change it up." Mark said right before taking a bite of his burger. I smiled and nodded my head.
We enjoyed our lunch and talked with each other. After we finished we payed for our meals and left, I followed them as we started to drive through the neighborhood. It wasn't the most nicest place, but people called it home so I respected it.
Their cars came to a stop, I parked right behind them and waited in my car. I watched as they headed inside one of the houses and closed the door behind them. I sighed and leaned back in my car to close my eyes for a bit, I haven't slept so why not take the opportunity and close my eyes for a bit.
As I got comfortable the sound of something tapping on my car made me open my eyes. I looked around but didn't see anyone around, so I leaned back again and closed my eyes.
