I marveled at iridescent wings from a once fragile casket;
But leapt at trails from a slimy mollusc near a basket.
I claimed "There was nothing less hideous than such a slug,"
Then held my horses when I glanced at another bug.
The wormlike body, and I realized who was really ugly.
