Hi! I am starting this totally from scratch. All the characters portrayed in the story were made by none other than myself. May contain the occasional swear word. If I happen to copy a character name, I am sorry. I create the names based off of how I imagine the character in my head. Thanks so much for reading!
I wake up in a cold sweat, breathing heavily. Good, my parents weren't in my room, clarifying I wasn't screaming from the nightmare. I push the blankets off and walk to the full-length mirror attached to my closet wall. I see me, not a warrior in silver armor with a wound in her side. I've never been able to tell if the warrior is actually me, but in the dream its like I can feel being stabbed in the side. I check my phone and its 5:30. Might as well stay up.
I'm ready for school in about an hour and spend the rest of my time reading a book till I get a text. It's from Ben. Best friend starting from 7th grade, has a crappy and obviously cheap car that his parents bought him for his 16th. I'm still 15 and it is killing me that I can't drive. Anyway, the text is simple and I recieve it almost every morning: Hey Viv, you need a ride?
I respond with "yes". More time to sit at home and read, I'm almost to the end of Champion, and if its sad I want to cry alone in my room. Not with the eyes of my peers. Ben arrives within the next twenty minutes.
"Hey." he says.
"Hey, how was your weekend?" I respond.
"Alot of panicking about finals and my current grades. How did yours go?"
"Pretty good, not very interesting. Alot of reading went down though."
He shakes his head. "You and your books."
Our connverstion is pretty much over when Ben reaches over to turn up the Fall Out Boy song that has come on the radio.
We arrive at school 10 minutes before the bell telling us to go to homeroom goes off, which doesn't give us much time to socialize. Parker, Lizzie, and Connor wave us over when we walk in.
"Ben! Vivian!" Lizzie hugs me like we haven't seen each other and years even though its only been two days. And the guys do some slap on the back thing as a way of greeting. Lizzie launches into a conversation with me about her new crush, Caleb Druston (on the football team, the usual for Lizzie) and finals. I listen and nod, but my dream keeps popping back into my head. It's never been so vivid, so detailed in my mind. Lizzie asks if I'm okay and I tell her I'm fine and that I just had a weird dream. She goes back to talking until the bell rings.
I cannot pay attention to any of my teachers all day. This isn't normal, I'm a straight-A student who pays full attention to the teacher, asks questions, and gives answers. Today its just not clicking. My english teacher pulls me aside after class to see if I'm alright. I tell her I'm tired and she excepts my crap excuse giving me a concerned expressions as she lets go of my shirtsleeve. I keep getting weird visions, I think they might be from the dream. Blurry signs, and weird buildings lined up in crooked streets. Everyones faces are blurry and I can't tell what they are wearing. The only clear image I have is of the warrior. Long, wavey black hair that blows in the wind. Her sword in her left hand, tip dug in the ground. Bulky, silver armor covering from shoulder to toe. I feel like she's looking at me, challenging me in a way. Her electric blue eyes staring at me. I continue to push it behind me for the rest of the school day.
End of "Chapter 1: The Dream" I hope you are enjoying so far, I know it's probably a bit boring at this point but next chapter I feel like getting into the main stuff.
