Erin got up from her bed, the sunlight peaking through the window being the only source of light in her room. She rubbed her face, turning her gaze towards the clock, onto to find out she had overslept by three hours. Her alarm of Touch Tone Telephone by Lemon Demon from her favourite album Spirit Phone was supposed to go off, but she guessed that something must've broken.

"Oh, shit." She mumbled, stumbling out of bed to go get dressed. "You're up! I got worried." Her dad, Martin, exclaimed upon seeing her, half dressed, holding her comb in her mouth and she attempted to do her hair. "Huh? Uh, yea hi dad, I overslept I'm s-" She started, before being cut off. "It's alright! I made you breakfast, by the way." He mentioned, then continued down the hallway, probably to go wake her brother, Greg, up.

Erin made her way to the kitchen, she seemed to be the only one, aside from her dad and brother, at home. Jesse, her other dad, already left for work. Him and Martin both work at a radio station as interns. She walked outside, the sun had already risen, though covered by mist. "..Dad? Hey, dad, come out here-" She shouted, still looking at the mist, which had a bit of a green haze. 

Martin peaked outside. "Hm? Is something wrong?" He asked, seeming alarmed. "That mist. Do you see the mist?" She asked. He nodded no, then went back inside. "Wh- Ugh."

She was supposed to go to a new school today. But now all she could hear was her own voice, but not coming from herself. Instead, from the ants below her feet, all in unison, tearing down the porch she was standing on. The world around her got closer, until she blinked. She seemed to still be in her room, it wasn't morning anymore, but the afternoon.

She just assumed it was all a weird dream, which would've meant she overslept even more.
