TW: some swearingIt was getting closer to the early mornings, just when the tavern that a certain red-head owns, Master Diluc. The drunkards were slowly stumbling their way towards the door, preparing to leave, only a bard left in the room besides yourself and the owner.
"Tch not him again, passed out just like always..." Diluc sighed, clearly irritated by this common occurrence. As he was clearly unable to walk due to him being flat out unconscious, Diluc couldn't just leave him outside so he moved Venti upstairs. This left the two alone (somewhat).
"So..." (Y/N) started.
Diluc turned his head to face her, in the middle of cleaning some of the remaining glasses left on the counter. His arms leant on the surface while (Y/N) sat the opposite side, staring at his hands, not daring to make eye contact. He was intimidating. But nonetheless, she found him alluring. She's been by Diluc's side ever since he was a teen... before everything went wrong in his life. She sighed as she finally looked up to see his tired eyes focusing on the task at hand. Standing up, she meandered her way to his side and taking the glass from his hand."What are you doing?" He questioned, his mouth slightly open from shock.
"You work too hard for your own good without taking breaks. Someone has to look after you if you can't look after yourself."Diluc turns away and smiles softly to himself. "Thank you."
After finishing the cleaning, (Y/N) makes her way over to where Diluc sat, already fallen asleep while waiting for her to finish, upon one of the tables on the bottom floor. He was about to stand until he felt a force push him back down.
"No. You stay there and rest a bit." She demands.
"But i need to close up the tav-"
"Already done"He turned quickly to her, mouth agape for a few seconds. He was so used to doing everything by himself so why did it feel so nice when someone helped?
"I-.. thank you" he gave her a gentle smile. He wasn't one to show much appreciation but (Y/N) was someone he knew he could trust. She was there for him after the death of his father, she helped him prevent himself from killing the one he used to call brother. She was there for it all. And what did he do to help her in return?
Now realising how shit of a person he must've been to her, he started, "(Y/N)... I'm sorry."
"Sorry? What for?"
"You've done so much for me... and yet I've done nothing in return..."
A small sob escapes his lips, "I don't deserve someone like you by my side. Not when I'm like this."
"Oh Diluc." She chuckles.
She sits next to him and pulls him into a small embrace, rubbing his back in acts of comfort.
"I love you just the way you are. And you're lying when you say you havent done anything for me. You are the person I trust the most. You may not even realise it but you have done so much for me. Moments like these where it's just the two of us hold so much more meaning to me than you might know."
Diluc stares at her, tears pooling in his eyes to then nuzzle his face into the crook of her neck.
"Thank you... for everything."
"No problem Dilulu~"
He pouted, "I thought I told you to stop calling me that.."
"No can do, Dilulu!" She smiles, "It's getting late so we should start heading back, see you tomorrow." (Y/N) stands up and walks out the door, a smile remaining on Diluc's face."So Dilulu, when are you gonna marry her?" The now awake bard, still flushed from the alcohol, slurs as he stumbles his way over to the red head.
Diluc snaps his head towards the voice and blushes. Whether it be out of anger or embarrassment, who knows?
"Fucking drunkard."
