Where do I start with this story? How about in my 5th year...
I was sitting alone in my train compartment reading a book that had been gifted to me, when my major nuisanc- I mean "friend", Oliver, opened the door "Hey Carew! How was your summer?" I let out a sigh and said "Well Oliver I spent all of it figuring out how to get away from you and how to avoid any pranks from that little group that calls themselves the Marauders" he grinned and said "Glad to see you haven't changed Car!" I frowned and said "Don't call me that" he plopped himself next to me and placed his arm around me. I bit my tongue to avoid letting any blush show on my face, it was obvious that he had gained some muscle and height over the summer, and went back to reading my book.
He poked my cheek and said "Car! Your supposed to ask me how my summer was!" I scowled and said "If I do will you take your arm off of me and stop spreading your body odors?" he nodded cheerfully and I let out a sigh and said in a very strained voice "How was your summer Oliver?" he grinned again and pressed his pressed his nose into my cheek and in a very flirtatious tone said "Better now since your here!" Thankfully the train started to move and the sudden movement knocked him off of me. I stood up and placed my book on the seat "I have to go to the perfects meeting. I'll be back in a while" I walked out and headed towards the perfects compartment. Inside we were told our duties and given our patrol schedules. I saw Lily Evans and Remus Lupin and knew that at least Gryffindor was in somewhat capable hands. Once the meeting was over we were told that we could head back to our compartments. When I got back to my compartment I was horrified. Sirius Black was about to rip a page out of my book. I quickly pulled out my wand and said "Accio book!" the book flew out his hands and went into mine. He looked at me and the book in my hands and visibly paled.
"Hey Carew... uhm h-how was your summer?" I looked towards Oliver who was trying to hide in the corner and said "Oliver. Come here please" he too paled and got up. Even though most of the people in the compartment were probably almost a head taller, than me other then probably Peter, they were still all very pale. I smiled and grabbed his ear he let out an "ow" and I started to walk dragging him along behind me throughout the train in search of Remus Lupin. I finally spotted him with Lily and I marched up to him dragging Oliver behind me who the spent the entirety of my hunt repeating "ow" and "let go! I had nothing to do with it!" he turned and I poked my finger in his chest and said "Get them out of my compartment now!" he looked confused and Lily put her hands on my shoulders.
"Carew please calm down and explain" I took in a deep breath and pulled Oliver back to his spot next to me after he attempted to get out of my grasps. I clenched my hands and said "Remus... Your friend Sirius Black had his hands on one of my books" Lily nodded in understanding but Remus still seemed confused "Why are you upset over that?" he said I tried to look him in the eyes but failed since he is quite a bit taller then me. Instead I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and hissed "Sirius Orion Black was about to rip a page out of my book Remus so if you don't go in there and solve this I will make sure that your school life is a literal hell" he nodded and I let go of his shirt collar I turned to Oliver he was rubbing his ear where I had grabbed it. Lily spoke calmly to me because if there was one thing I was known for in this school, it was that I am incredibly protective of my books to the point where I could, and have, made a grown man start to cry.
I slowly calmed down a little more and Lily asked if she could see my book. I nodded and handed her the book which had a crumpled page and a small tear. The sight of one of my books being like this made me incredibly sad. Lily pulled out her wand and she said a spell that made the page uncrumple itself and repair any tears. Once my book was properly fixed and given back to me I turned to Lupin who had been waiting for me to be finished so I could show the way to my compartment. I fixed his shirt and said "Sorry Remus I shouldn't have acted like that..." he smiled slightly and said "It's ok Carew I know that you were quite upset" I nodded and headed back my compartment. I slid open the door to reveal the three boys sitting there quietly with their head down. I motioned Remus to go forth and he nodded and walked inside. All three of the boys looked up and Remus started to talk "You know what you did was wrong right?" they nodded and Sirius stood up and turned towards me and said "Carew, I'm super sorry about how I treated your book" I nodded and said "It is fine, but if I see you manhandle one of my books like that again Black I will curse your hair off for an entire year" he nodded and I walked in and sat down across from them. They stared at me and I looked up at them "Did you really think Oliver would have a book in his compartment?" he made a noise in protest and I only waved my hand doing some wandless magic to quiet him.
