Oliver and Eunice

(The Story of Orpheus and Eurydice)

Characters:

Oliver (Orpheus) – A musician and an adventurer, son of a businessman and a great musician.

Eunice (Eurydice) – A living Goddess, a model and beauty queen.

Jason – Bestfriend of Oliver.

Narrator: Oliver is the son of a business man and a great musician. Oliver himself is a great musician. He is also adventurous that resulted to his great expeditions. One day, Oliver went to Boracay with his best friend Jason for their adventure. While they were sailing, they heard far over the sea, the sirens. The sirens were singing enchantingly sweet that it drove out all thoughts except a desperate longing to hear more and they turned the boat to the shore where the sirens sat. Oliver snatched up his lyre and played a tune so clear and ringing that it drowned the sound of these lovely fatal voices. The boat put back on his course and the winds sped him away from the dangerous place.

Oliver: (kisses the lyre) If not because of you, perhaps I’m already dead.

Narrator: Back in Boracay, He saw a lady that caught his attention.

Oliver: Hey, I just met you and this is crazy but here’s my number, so call me maybe?

Eunice: Are you serious? Or are you insane?

Oliver: No, it’s just…. I love the way you look tonight.

Eunice: Oh! Your voice was amazing, and I can’t resist to the power of your voice. Can you sing to me again?

Oliver: (You’re Beautiful Chorus) By the way, I’m Oliver and you are?

Eunice: I’m Eunice. You sing very well. Huh?

Oliver: Thank you Eunice. Well, I’ll take it as a compliment :)

Narrator: After serenading Eunice every day, they fell in love with each other. After a year, they got married but their joy was brief. Directly after the wedding, as the bride walked in a meadow, a snake stung her she died. Oliver’s grief was overwhelming, He could not endure it. He could not endure it. He determined to go down to the world of death and try to bring Eunice back. He said to himself.

Oliver: With my song, I will charm the Lord of the Dead. Moving their hearts with my melody. I will bear her away from Hades.

Narrator: He dared more than any either man ever dared for his love. He took the fearsome journey to the underworld. There he sings a song. The ruler of the dead drew near to listen with his queen.

Oliver: (Singing: I want to spend my lifetime loving her)

Narrator: They summoned Eunice and gave her to him, But upon one condition.

Hades: “You would not look back at her as she follows you until you both reach the upper world”

Narrator: So the two passed through the great doors of Hades to the path which would take them out of the darkness, climbing up and up. He knew that she must be just behind him, but he longed unutterably to give one glance to make sure. But now they were almost there, the blackness was turning grey, now he had stepped joyfully into the daylight. Then he turned to her. It was too soon; she was still in cavern. He saw her in the dim light, and he held out his arm to clasp her, but on instant she was gone. She had slipped back into the darkness. All he heard was her faint words.

Eunice: Farewell. I love you. If I leave you here forever, forever I will stay. I know someday we'll be together.

Oliver: Nooooooooo!!!

Narrator: Oliver woke up breathing rapidly and he realized that is was just a dream.

Oliver: It was just a dream! I thought I will bring you back Eunice.

Narrator: But because of his love and longing for Eunice, He stabbed his heart and he died. Upon knowing that he will be with Eunice, Forever.
