After a year

*ring ring*
I flutter open my eyes and look over at my phone.         *ring ring*

I snatch my phone off of my desk and answer the call , a familiar voice speaks.
"Hello luv"

"Klaus it's 10pm what do you want , I'm human I need sleep" i sigh tiredly , i hear people chuckle in the background.
"Sorry to wake you sleeping beauty but , would you like to come over ? We can have a movie night" he asks , i yawn and sit up.
"Yeah sure whatever , who else will be there?" I ask as i climb out of bed and look for something to wear.
"Rebekah , Elijah , Freya , me and Hayley" he lists , i pull out some clothes.
"Alright" i sigh and end the call.

I change into some comfy clothes and pull on some shoes.

I run downstairs and grab my keys and open my front door , I see my best friend standing there with a smile.

"Hey bex" i smile and wrap my arms around around her giving her a long over due hug.
"Hey" she hugs me back.

We walk over to the car and she drives us over to the Mikaelson mansion , it's been a year since I have been here.

We walk inside and the whole family is there , waiting ... everyone except Kol.

Me and Kol dated for 2 years and then he left me for Davina after he moved to New Orleans. We just haven't spoke since , he has sent me messages begging me to come back but I have not replied.

"Elijah" i smile and hug him.
"Hello" he smiles , i walk over to klaus and hug him too.
"Hello Luv , it's been a while" he whispers to me , i nod.

I hug everyone else and we go into the kitchen.

"Bourbon?" Elijah offers a glass.
"You know I'm a light weight on that shit" i giggle and take the glass with a smirk.
"We all know , it's hilarious" Hayley smiles as she sips a drink.

"Go pick a movie , we will be in soon" Klaus points to the living room , i nod and walk in.

I place my drink down and kneel on the floor in front  of the cabinet , i open it and pull some movies out looking through them.

"Elizabeth...." I hear a low , familiar British voice say with a tone of hurt.

Kol...

I turn around and stand up in front of him
I try to speak but nothing comes out , I haven't managed to speak to him for a year.

"I'm sorry I just wanted to speak to you" he says with a sad tone.
"Yeah okay , go on" i say , fighting back tears.
"I-uh , can we go outside" he asks , offering out his hand , i look around and see Klaus and Rebekah looking at us with an upset expression.
"Yeah of course" i smile sadly and take his hand , he leads us outside and grabs my other hand.

"Elizabeth , darling... I am so sorry about what happened when I left for New Orleans. I should never have left you for Davina , I missed you like crazy everyday , waiting for you to reply to my messages. But you didn't and I can tell I really hurt you , I hate myself for that" he says quickly but softly , gripping my hands as if I'm gonna fall off of a cliff , i look into his eyes and I can tell he means this. I notice tears forming.

"I just hope you can give me a second chance ... I- I still love you , I never stopped" he finishes and looks into my eyes , for anything.
"Kol.. I just need some time , this is the first time I have seen you in a year and- *a tear falls from my eye as my voice breaks* I just need to process this alright" i cry but trying to calm myself , i pull my hands away and rush back inside leaving Kol upset in the darkness.

"Lizzie , what's the matter" i hear one of my friends say , I wipe my tears and look up at her.
"Nothing Freya , I'm okay" i smile and sit down with the others , I know I'm not fooling them at all. They know I'm not happy.

Suddenly the front door bangs open and reveals an extremely wasted Kol , this is my fault.
"Kol what's wrong , why are you so drunk" Rebekah asks as she gets up and holds him for support.
"She doesn't love me" he says with a hurt tone , i stand up and he grabs the nearest thing to him which was a vase.
"ELIZABETH DOESN'T LOVE ME ANYMORE" his voice breaks as tears shed from his eyes , the vase in his hands gets launched in my direction but misses by the slightest bit.
"Kol.." my heart breaks seeing how much he needs me but he is scaring me.
"Kol your scaring the poor girl , get him upstairs sister" Freya snaps at her younger brother , Rebekah , Klaus and Elijah rush Kol upstairs as i stand in shock , tears streaming down my face. He has never been this angry , never tried to harm me.

"Lizzie , come on ... I'll take you home" Hayley grabs my shoulders gently and guides me outside , I just ... I can't speak.

The drive home is silent , neither of us say a word but I do manage to calm myself down , my breath is still shaky.

I get out of the car without saying a word and rush inside.
"Elizabeth?" I hear my mom say softly as i rush past her , it's pretty late so I assume she has just finished work.

I run into my room and close my door , my back slides down reaching the floor as I break down into tears.

I love him , I do. But it's been a year and ... I don't know what to do.
