Tim Pivarnik Successfully Lead Gary Middle College Towards Growth

Tim Pivarnik has earned huge respect in the education department while serving at different positions. Currently, working as the Principal of Gary Middle College, he is focused on the improvement of education system of the school as well as the students. He is balanced within all his roles and works hard to make sure that he is doing what he feels is the best for all the constituents involved. He encourages and supports innovative strategies and the incorporation of new techniques not only into teaching, but also in the learning activities. He was appointed at the position of the Principal in the year 2013, when there was a great need to transform this non traditional, failing start up charter school to a successful one. 

During his employment in the school, he fulfilled many responsibilities, some of these include:

- Implementation of an integrated learning environment including an online curriculum together with teacher observed undeviating instruction in nine to twelve grade level learning labs.

- Supervised a review of every student's transcript and realigned their schedules placing students in their correct level of classes. 

- Presently, Tim Pivarnik is busy in transforming the college into a well established college or an education hub through making partnerships with renowned Ivy Tech Community College, Hammond Career Center, Center of Workforce Innovations, and Gary Area Career Center.

- Enforcement of a graduate learning lab for learners requiring 8 or less credits to graduate together with ECA remediation or prep leading to 13 students passing both the ECA's and acquiring 40 diploma after formerly dropping out of high school with protrusions of more than 20 Core 40 graduates this year.      

Tim Pivarnik has also worked as the Principal of Calumet High School. He has received an array of certifications, including Indiana teacher's License, and Building Level K-12 Administrator License. In May 1997, Tim received Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education and in December 2005, he obtained Master of Science degree in the similar subject from Indiana University, NW, Gary, IN. He has always supported the development of extracurricular as well as curricular activities and formed many plans and strategies to implement in the school, so that the level of teaching can be raised and excellent results can be achieved.
