'Kill Kaz Brekker.'

THE WORDS resonated in Valentina's head. It was true that Valentina would stop at nothing to get rid of Brekker, but having to kill him seemed a little intense.

Valentina looked at the tall man, strapped in the chair in front of him. There is tension in the air. No one dares to speak. Theoden and Feodora look at each other and then back at Valentina who is still staring at the man who just spoke those words and is still tied up. Tensions are running high. Valentina still hasn't said anything. Silence surrounds them. Hands on her hips, Valentina looks straight at the tied up man. It's been a few seconds since she's blinked.

She takes a deep breath, 'Kill Brekker? Is that what you're asking?'

'Yes, Miss Markoff. It's that simple. Once Brekker is dead we will give you your five million kruge.'

'Not once he's dead,' she replies sharply, 'I want half the money now and half the money when I bring you his remains.'

He looks up to Valentina, 'I'd have to speak with my superiors but I don't think it should be an issue.'

'Alright then. Feodora here, will walk with you to your boss and then you'll come straight back. I want no funny business,' she then turns to Feodora and says, 'I'm trusting you with him. Come back in one piece. You have an hour. Come back soon.'

'Yes boss,' she replies. She makes her way to the cabinet on the wall, opens it and grabs a number of guns, knives and other small concealable weapons. She confidently arranges them in her clothes.

Theoden grabs a knife from a table and goes to cut the ropes from the chair. He makes him stand up and leaves him in the hands of Feodora.

'Bring him back here when you're done Feodora. We'll be waiting,' says Valentina.

Theoden opens the doors and sees them out. He closes the door behind them and goes to stand next to his boss.

'Hey Val, you alright?' he asks. Valentina rescued him from the streets of Ketterdam. Whilst she was his boss, the two also shared some fond memories. He knew how she worked and knew what set her off.

She looks at him, looking a little off, and says, 'do you think he was serious?'

'What?' he replies.

'Do you think he seriously wants me to kill Brekker?'

'He sounded pretty serious to me. But this is Ketterdam. I mean gangs hate each other but this doesn't mean they want to kill each other,' he replies.

Valentina sits down on one of the velvet chairs she had brought down. Who said an interogation room couldn't be comfortable?

She pours two drinks and hands Theoden a glass. She drinks it all in one gulp.
