Her

"I thought from the first time there was only me in this relationship. I think I'm the only one who tries to maintain this tie-up, giving all the love I can to make it last." I lowered my head because I couldn't even look at him who was now standing in front of his door after many times I pressed the bell on the door, even though I was able to get inside because surely I knew the security code.

"What are you talking about?" his cold voice sounded as if he didn't care what I was desperately holding on to.

Finally, I had the courage to slowly lift up my head to see his expression that did look tired because oh, ya... I disturbed his rest time tonight, right in front of his apartment door.

"Do you know? In a relationship, it will only last if there are two people who put the same effort into it. And here... where we are, it's just me. How do you think I can survive?" I couldn't hold back the tears that had pooled in the corners of my eyes which had been swollen since last night from crying.

He let out a long, annoyed breath.

"You know I just got home not even 10 minutes ago, and suddenly I have to hear what you're saying that I don't even understand what it all means." He seemed to be holding back his emotions, seen for a moment he closed his eyes while making a small growl.

I smiled half-heartedly and my tears fell on their own.

"Sorry if I bothered you," I whispered softly.

Again he took a deep breath. "Come in," he slightly tilted his body which was in the open doorway, trying to let me in.

I just replied with a shake of my head and again I heard his tired sigh that sounded annoyed.

"What do you want? I really need to rest now." his voice suddenly became soft, while I wiped away my tears.

"Let's break up." Now I see the expression on his face that looks even more annoyed with my convincing words.

"You're joining this relationship, but you never be a part." I tried to look for something that was left in his eyes but to no avail, I found nothing. "And it'll never be enough for me, and also us."

"Are you drunk?" his voice sounded cold again and the rest of his annoyance was still there because I really bothered him perhaps.

"You know I can't be drunk, but in case if you know. I'm not."

We were silent for a while after he decided to lean one shoulder against the wide-open door and folded his arms.

"Do whatever you want. Like you said before, I was never a part of any of this. Was this really what you wanted from the start? If you remember you offered all of this 3 years ago to me, and I didn't promise you anything. And if you want to end this, that's also your decision, just like your offer." he finally really knocked me down to the deepest point.

I nodded with the remaining strength I could use after my whole body trembled at his words. Lifting up my head to see his face after looking down for a long time, it wasn't a good idea because I could actually see his cold face that looked tired and annoyed, on me.

"Go back to rest then, good night." I turned around and walked with all my might towards the elevator with a blank mind and my whole body in pain.

Entering the elevator and I could see he was still standing in the same position with his eyes downcast, I leaned my body against the elevator wall and cried in a muffled voice since the door closed tightly.

"I ran away but you never cared enough to stop me." I slumped and crouched down, hiding my head in the folds of my hands, crying uncontrollably trying to get rid of the pain I had.

On the other side

He was still standing on the doorstep, just standing and stay silent since the visit from the woman who came crying while pressing his doorbell repeatedly even though she could easily go in and out as she wanted.

"How about me? I'm so much more than you told me I was." He whispered as if that woman was still in front of him.
