کچھ تو ہے جو نیندر ائے کم
کچھ تو ہے جو آنکھیں ہیں نم
کچھ تو ہے جو تو کہہ دے تو
ہنستے ہنستے مر جائے ہم

Kuch toh hai jo neend aaye kam
Kuch toh hai jo ankhe hain nam
Kuch toh hai jo tu keh de to
Haste haste mar jaye ham

There is something that I can't sleep
There is something that my eyes are wet
There's something surely
For if you ask, I can die smiling.

Night sky had welcomed the dawn just few minutes ago and the chirping birds were signing ballad  of morning, when Saman had stepped out of the house. Deciding to have a walk after fajr instead of sleeping, Saman had came out in the lush garden of The Shah Haveli. The front lawn was looking exceptionally fascinating today as the last night drizzle had left humidity as it's gift. The grass was wet, so was the lawn chairs, mango and other trees creating a foggy stance.

A serene smile formed on Saman's face as she ran her eyes around her. It was not that bright of a morning and the sky hadn't yet overcome the night's effect.  So perfect, so regal.

Oh how she adored this!

Saman was homesick. Alamnagar was close to her heart and even if she had seen better places than this small town of Bihar, she could never bring herself to adore any other place like she adored her hometown. Her heart was here, it had been alway be.

Her father always showed the desire of taking her with him to Bangalore, where he was settled as a professor. But she had always denied, she had went to him in vacations or for small trips but never could she live away from her home. This Shah Haveli, that was a mere building for anyone was a basic part of her life. She had her dead mother's memory from here, she had her childhood's memory from here...and above all she had her family here. Her badi ammi, uncles, aunts cousins and grandparents.

Those people had stood by her every time she felt like falling, she loved her father but then, maybe that love was somewhat lighter on scale than the love for Shah Gharana.

Wrapping her hands around her scarf covered self, Saman kept walking aimlessly on the dewey ground. She could now make out few orange streaks in the sky...and also the buzz from nearby fields. Maybe the farmers were up for pampering their lands. Shah Haveli was surrounded by large fields that would seasonally get covered into crops of variety. Sometimes green, sometimes golden.
