Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!
I grab my phone to turn off the annoying wakeup call. "Six AM?!" I read off the bright screen. My alarm is supposed to ring at seven AM! I can't believe I lost a whole hour of sleep because of such a dumb mistake. "Ughh!" I exclaim opening my clock app to turn on my seven o'clock alarm for tomorrow morning. When I see there's absolutely nothing to fix, I realize I didn't click "stop" earlier when I opened my phone. Am I just going crazy? I swear I heard obnoxious beeping a minute ago.
Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!
I wearily part my window curtains in search of the source of the sound that woke me up. My eyes widen as I see an extremely hot man helping movers bring boxes into the house across from mine. His waved, medium-length hair falls away from his chic, hooded eyes as he looks up at my room. He sends a friendly smirk in my direction, which draws my gaping face from his muscles to his gaze. I dumbly wave back and his smirk grows into a full smile. I just realized I look like a total creep peering out of my window like that. I quickly close my curtains and run into the bathroom to get ready for school. "Snap out of it Lia!" I scold myself in the mirror. "You have a boyfriend!"

I guess I'm pretty bad at following my own directions because I swear I saw the face that smiled at me this morning in the bustling crowd of students rushing to get to first period.
"Oh my gosh did I just see you look at another guy??" my friend Chaesun asks me with her eyes popping out of her proportional head—not as proportional as mine though... Her comment catches me off guard for a moment. I didn't know she was watching me that closely! I know Chaesun has been actively searching for the perfect slip-up to dethrone me from my spot as the most perfect girl at Saebeom High ever since we met. I remember seeing through her fake doe-y eyes when she introduced herself as my most-dedicated admirer in order to claim a place at my side.
"Of course not!" I defend, adding an extra dramatic gasp to remind her and those listening of my loyal character. "I just thought that guy looked a bit like my new neighbor. What am I thinking though. Haha. There's no way someone moving into a house alone would be young enough to attend our school!"
"Okay, that's what I thought." Chaesun giggles. "If you were really checking out that kid I'd tell Inseong right away. Joke!" I give her a big smile even though I know she's not joking. Of course, you also need to date the most perfect guy in school if you want to be the most perfect girl. I bet Chaesun would literally jump Inseong for the chance to ask him out. Hmm. Fuck it. I'll just ask her about the new kid since she doesn't have a chance at taking Inseong from me.
"New kid? That explains why I didn't recognize him. Do you know who he is, Chaesun?" I ask.
"That's Jaeyoon Lee!" she chirps. "I heard that he's transferring this late into the year because he got kicked out of his old school." she adds in a low voice. Chaesun usually has the most accurate gossip, so I guess this guy is someone I should stay away from.
"Let's be nice to him, okay Chaesun?" I tell her. If I actually got caught avoiding someone because of an unconfirmed rumor, my image would become so tainted. "We have to make sure everyone who comes to our school feels welcomed!"
Bzz!
"Meet me at the vending machine <3"
A smile immediately forms on my lips as I read the invitation on my lockscreen. I quickly type a response to the enticing message. "Hmm. Too bad I can't remember which vending machine. See you after class"
"Oh, it's the one at that place where you poured out all your cute little feelings to me before we started dating :p"
"Hey! Don't act like you weren't the one who confessed first"
