Title: A Town Called Lovely

Car broke down

Picturesque 1950's town

Sun shone on

Sun shone so long

In a town

A town called Lovely

The birds they sung succinctly

The gardens hung so neatly

The town hall cryer sang

The reunited lovers pang

In a town

A town called Lovely

We didn't have much money

We lived on milk and honey

The landlady of the Inn

Gave us board and gin

In a town

A town called Lovely

No-one had a phone

Couldn't call back home

Mechanic was away

Tailor so they say

In a town

A town called Lovely

But we didn't want to leave

We learnt to farm and weave

Our worries up and went

It was easy paying rent

In a town

A town called Lovely

The car has rusted over

Growing four leaf clover

Even winter is a delight

With snowballs we laugh and fight

In a town

A town called Lovely
