Thomas and the Rat

Part 1

    It was a normal day for Thomas on his bed playing PUBG like everyday. It was early in the morning yet he was excited to get on and play, with Von. His online PUBG friend. Although Thomas knew online dating was a bad thing his feelings for Von kept growing stronger each day the more they play together. His love for Von was like a taking a nice shit on a good summer day. Today was an exceptional day to be feeling great though because Thomas was going to confess his feelings to Von. Thomas was very confident that Von would accept his feelings and they would become a couple but little did he know, Von had a secret that no one knew..

    As they were playing Thomas finally got enough courage to confess and told Von how he felt about him. It was silent for about 5 seconds until Von declined his confession. Thomas was heart broken as tear drops silently from his eyes, had he ever been this hurt in his life before? He didn't know how to react maybe he had been too over confident about his feelings and his relationship with Von, maybe he was too hopeful and blinded by his love for Von. His thoughts were all rambled up, he left the game and stayed the day in bed.. sobbing... at the fact Von rejected him. He didn't want to face reality anymore he wanted Von, he needed him, his life and thoughts were filled with him. He couldn't take it anymore, he didn't want a life without the person he loved which was Von so Thomas did the unexpected.. he took sum pills and swallowed it all in one. As he felt weaker and weaker and his headache getting stronger until he was unable to stand he fell to the ground but just before his eyes closed he saw a Rat in the corner staring at him with eyes glowing as if there was tears in its eyes. Thomas went unconscious but was found by his mother and taken to the hospital where he managed to be saved and lived. 

   It was night when Thomas had woken up from what felt like a dream, for a split second he was confused to where he was and what happened until he remembered... how his heart was broken to a million pieces. He felt torn inside like lightning struck his chest his thoughts were now filled with Von, how he'd always come to the rescue when he was knocked, how he always gave Thomas med kits when he was low, and how he was always there for Thomas when he was sad. All those moments that he had with Von, he cherished them more than anything else. He wondered how Von was doing. As his eyes start tearing up slowly before it could drop, something crashed near him. It was a small vase and next to it...  was a rat. Thomas immediately stood up in fear of it and screeched like a loud ass goat (*bitch*). A nurse then came rushing in and saw the situation and picked up the rat and had it go in a cage. "My apologies, mr. Jefersen" said the nurse, "And you are..?" questioned Thomas. 

   "Nurse Abbie! I am your assistant and the one who will be looking after you for these next three weeks" The nurse replied happily. Thomas was confused but he didn't bothering replying so he nodded his head and went into his covers. The nurse had a slight frown since their first meeting didn't go so well. "I'll get going now, a doctor will come in and check on you soon if you need anything you can press the red button next your bed and i'll be right there" said Nurse Abbie. Thomas replied with a simple ok and the nurse left. 

 45 Minutes have passed since he woke up he heard a knock on his door. "Come in" said Thomas and the doctor came in. He was tall, light skinned, teeth that looked like fangs when he smiled. he admitted that the doctor was quiet good looking he could fall for him but love wasn't it for Thomas. "Are you mr. Jefersen?", the doctor asked "My name is mr. Yoshi, pleasure to meet you" Thomas was speechless with how handsome doctor Yoshi was, "H-hi, uh yeah nice to meet y-you too-?" The doctor laughed showing his striking cute smile as his fang like teeth were showing. Thomas could feel the heat rising in his cheeks wondering if his blushing was noticeable. "Are you okay? Your face is a bit red perhaps you've gotten worse than what we thought" Said the doctor. Thomas nodded his head "Um No, I feel just fine I think it's just the temperature  in uh this room it's quiet hot-" Thomas said with an awkward haha at the end. 

  The doctor chuckled at the boys stuttering which was kind of funny, "I just wanted to explain to you about the situation, your mother found you on the ground after you had supposedly taken pills trying to overdose? Is that true" Asked the doctor. Thomas didn't know how to respond he kept looking all over the place but then realized that the rat was still in its cage. "Why is that rat in a cage?" Thomas asked. The doctor looked back, "Oh yeah, that rat saved you you know that. Your mother chased it into your room where she found you unconscious you should be thankful!" Said the doctor. Thomas was in shocked, he couldn't believe that a rat ruined his plan to die forever but then he remembered that it was the same rat he saw a split second before he fell to the ground and went unconscious. He gasped, "You mean- THAT RAT?!" he couldn't believe what he seeing and hearing. He was beginning to make himself believe this whole thing was a joke, but it wasn't. "Hey hey calm down" The doctor said, "Calm down and let's go back and talk about why you did it. Why did you try and overdose? You could have died you know" 

 "That was the point and why do you need to know why I did it? It's none of your business" Thomas replied. "Because I want to help you, even if it's personal I still want to help you because it's my job and I care about all my patients. I care about you" The doctor said to try and let Thomas relax. Thomas was hesitant, "should I tell him? Maybe it'll relieve some stress.. but what if it doesn't help?" he thought. Soon he started thinking all over the place and his heart started pacing faster and faster and it was getting harder to breathe. The doctor noticed and told him to calm down and relax and that Thomas was safe that nothing would hurt him. Thomas looked back him with tiny tear drops in his eyes he didn't know what to do or why he was hurting so much over one person. He hugged the doctor which caught both of them by surprised. Thomas didn't know why he did it but he just needed someone to embrace, his pain was too much for him to handle alone. The doctor put his hands on his back to show Thomas he wasn't alone. As they both sat there hugging in silence, there was another broken heart in the room that watched the person he wasn't able to love hurting because of him. Von sat there in is cage wanting to go out wishing he was never a rat and just wanting Thomas in his arms without him being afraid. "What do I do, I don't want to lose Thomas" Thought Von. He was jealous of the doctor, he was jealous of those who were able to talk and got to be around Thomas. He wanted what they had, he wanted Thomas, he wanted to be with him, he wanted to let Thomas know that even if their species are differ he will always love Thomas. But will it be the same with Thomas if he knew the person he loved was a rat?    

                       What does the future hold for these two? Will they have their happy ending or will they never be able to love each other
