chapter 1

I ran away from my toxic home when I was 14. My mom was an alcoholic and my brother Liam and my sister Emilie were stoners, my dad died when I was 10 due to an overdose.
I moved to California and it was so hard to live there but I learned what was responsibility at a young age, I slept in the streets for 2 months before Mr.Jackson, the owner of a restaurant, found me sleeping in the trash can, he offered me to stay in his basement in a change of working for him, cleaning and serving people. after 5 months of working, he started to pay me, 60$ per month was not bad for me so I went to school and studied harder than I could to have a bright future.

And here I am, sitting in a car with my colleague in a parking of a motel waiting for our targets to come out.
"So how long are we staying here because I'm starving" Leo said while he takes a sip of his coffee.
Leo is my best friend, my ride and die, the only person I care about, we met when I was 17, he saved me from a drunk man, and since then we have become inseparable, we did everything together, we graduated from the police academy the same year and we work now in the same department. Without him, I wouldn't be the strong and independent woman that I am now.
"We'll leave when I found these fuckers and put them in a cell, I got information from one of my spies tell me that it would be an exchange of drugs, and weapons in this motel" I said.
Leo nodded and after a moment of silence, he said" this motel sucks it's been 6 hours that we're here I want to go home"
"You don't want to go home, you want to go see your chick"
" Shut up Raven, she just a sneaky link, we had a one night stand, it was fun but now it's over"

I can see through his eyes that he's lying, I know him damn well.

"Yeah of course buddy I believe you," I said sarcastically while pinching his cheeks.

"So what the plan again?"
"The plan is I want you to put this mic in that truck over there," I said and point to the black Mercedes truck.
" Why me? why don't you do it by yourself"
I gave him a deadly stare and he got out of the car faster than I expected, I laughed when I saw him running .he's dumb and I don't know how the hell he becomes a police officer.
After 10 minutes, 2 men got in the truck.
I opened my laptop and connected to the mic.
" where is he," a bald tattoed man said while lighting his cigarette.
"He's not coming he's busy," the other men blonde men said coldly.
"I know that what I'm going to say sounds crazy but I need double of the shipments your going to give me"the blond one looked to the other with a furious look." We were robbed by some stupid men"
"are you out of your goddamn mind, how the fuck a big industry like yours was robbed by a men, and if this sucker came again and stole this shit, the boss would never--"we could hear his screaming without the mic before the tattooed one interrupts him.
"I don't give a shit what your boss says I want my cargo tomorrow at 2 pm....and for the robbery...your shitty boss already kill them"
"Them? Rogers, I don't understand what are you talking about"
Rogers gave the blonde one a file and he started reading it. When I heard the names of the people who robbed Rogers, my heart skipped a bit. After 13 years of avoiding it. I heard my sibling's names.
Rogers continues talking and now I had my full attention on him " their names were Liam and Emilie Damian, these too were drugs dealers, they stole half of the weapons, so I told your boss and he went to their house, he found Malicia, their mother, she was a stripper in one of our strip club in the east of the town, he put a bullet between the bitch's eyes, and he tortured her daughter Emilie in a terrible way you couldn't imagine, and he slit Liam's throat and then he burned the house, he already had problems with the family so when I told him it was another reason to end their lives".
After I heard the most painful words I've ever heard, so I took my gun and the moment I was leaving the car, Leo grabs my wrist and turn me so I was now facing him, he grabbed my face in his hands, he kissed me on the cheek and said"listen to me princess, I know it hard for you what you heard but we will took this motherfuckers down but please don't do anything stupid you will regret later, and remember what we will face now it so dangerous without back up, we'll be lucky if we got out alive, if anything happen I'll always love you so don't die bitch or I'll kill you if you did"
I hugged him tightly and try so hard not to cry.he's the only person I can be weak in front and he will never judge me, everyone in the police station know me as the crazy bitch who will kill anyone who tried to break the law.

We walk in silence and stood behind the truck I hold my gun in 2 hands, and another was in my waist, I gave Leo a sign to go to the right and I go to the left of the truck, I walked as fast as I can and point my gun to the guys "GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE TRUCK NOW AND HANDS UP" I yelled.
The 2 dudes obeyed the order, their hands in the air, Leo checked the truck and gave me a sign that everything is clear.
"Leo, handcuffed them.....we'll take them to our place we will have fun tonight buddy" i said with a smirk.
Leo looked at me with a confusing look, " Raven that illegal, if the station found out, we're fucked, I prefer to take them to the investigation department and you can ask them"
"Shut the fuck up do what I said and stop talking like an old lady " I said coldly
I don't know what happening to me but I will take revenge on my dead family even if I will lose my job.
