nor taylor nor ashton, knew of each other's existence just yet, nor did they remember anything since they were sound asleep in there homes as that was when they were taken...you see, the capital wasn't playing fair this year. they didn't draw out tributes names.they didn't let anyone volunteer. instead, they chose tributes by pure choice. they deliberately chose couples, siblings and people who are petrified of the games...why? because they want more amusement in the games to avoid people to stop watching it which will end up crashing the system.

taylor was the first to awaken and wished she hadn't... she wished that she was just dreaming, she wished she was still at home snuggled into her bed. as she peered around at her surroundings she realised she definitely wasn't at home. she immediately felt panic overcome her and felt sick to her stomach. 'no, it can't be' she thought.

she cautiously stood up and gulped loudly.

as she looked around she concluded that she was in a bedroom...although it wasn't hers of course. in her district she and her family couldn't afford any luxuries and this bedroom was extremely luxurious. Still startled and slightly scared she made sure to grab a coat hanger from the golden wardrobe as it was the only weapon she could find and tiptoed out of the room.

ashton awoke shortly after taylor but he didn't have the nerves to come out of the foreign bedroom. ashton was smart and knew where he was and why he was there. the hunger games. as simple as that. unlike taylor, ashton had mixed emotions...he was angry and he was distraught. all he's been thinking about was his long term girlfriend sydney. if he dies in the arena, which he most likely will, he will never see his beloved Sydney again...that was a lot to take in for ashton...he couldn't bear to think about it any longer as single tear slid down his cheek.
