Chapter 4: No!

Katniss P.O.V.

Shit!

I can't go home!! He can't make me! Or, wait maybe he can, but that's not the point!

I look over to Peeta and see that he has the same expression that I have right now, shock.

" You can't make me leave," I shout at him, slamming my hand down on his desk for emphasis.

"Oh really, watch me," he yells and walks to his desk, sitting down and picking up the phone.

"Yes, hello. Well I need you to come escort a soldier out of the base," he pauses for a moment, listening to the person on the other end of the phone. " What soldier......... oh soldier Everdeen," he smirks at me.

I stand there and look at him in utter shock of what just happened. He puts the phone on the receiver and looks back up at me again.

"So, your escort shall be here soon. He will take you to clean up your possessions and then you have to leave the premises," he tells me, folding his hands on his desk.

We stand there in silence for a moment, as I stare at Peeta, or I should say glare at him, and if I had the option of making looks kill, I would.

Just as Peeta looks up to make eye contact with me, there's a knock on the door, jolting us from our silence. I look to the door as it opens to reveal, what I assume is my escort.

"Time to go miss Everdeen," he says in his deep voice.

I reluctantly walk over to him, dreading the next few moments of my life. He roughly grabs me, thinking I might make a run for it. I glare up at him, totally disgusted.

"You know, out of all the people at this base, you are the last one I expected this from," he shakes his head in disapproval at me.

"I know, me too," I mutter, hoping that it was more to myself.

"Well, just wondering, what did you
Do anyway," he asks me.

"Oh, I talked back to the commander...... quite a few times," I mutter the last four words.

"Oooo, no wonder you got kicked out," he turns down the hall to my door and when we get there he opens for me.

"Thank you," I mutter, getting my arm out of his grasp.

Once I finished packing all of my stuff, I turn towards the door and let it a big sigh. I walk through the door of my room shutting t behind me and looking back at it longingly. My escort leads me to the front door out of he base, and just as I'm about to walk through it, someone comes telling down the hallway, screaming my name.

"What Peeta," I snap, rolling my eyes and turn my head towards him.

"Katniss," he says out of breath. "I'm so sorry, this is all my fault".

"Yeah, well it's a little to late for sorry's now Peeta," I rudely say and slam the door open, rushing out of the building.

I get dropped off at the airport and quickly rush inside, looking anywhere for a pay phone, as when your in the army, your not allowed to own a cell phone, well not at the base anyway. U find one and quickly rush over to it. I put fifty cents in and dial the number, pleading for someone to answer.

"Hello," a voice says.

"Mom," I pause. "I need your help".
