Red woke up to the sound of his alarm clock going off. He got out of bed and took a nice warm shower. When he walked out of the bathroom, on his bed were the new trainer clothes he brought with his mom yesterday.

He combed his hair and brushed his teeth. Then headed downstairs in his new outfit.

(A/N: I feel like this outfit suits him more as an eighteen-year-old. Through in your head you can put him in a different outfit if you want.)

"Happy birthday my young man." His mom said hugging him. "That outfit looks so nice on you."

"Yes, they do mom. Now stop it I'm not a child," Red said with a sigh.

"I know but you still be my little boy," She said. "Now come on you don't want your breakfast to get cold."

Red arrived in the kitchen to see chocolate pancakes, bacon, and apple juice sitting on the table.

"Dig in," His mom said.

Jessie was sitting in her room staring out of the window bored out of her mind. Thinking of what to do until Team Rocket had anything new to do.

On the floor next to her was an Ekans curled up in a ball. On the other side of her was a Lickitung that was licking a bowl clean that had Pokemon food in it. (In this story Team Rocket will have more Pokemon than in the game. Some will be Pokemon they actually had in gen 1 and some might just be ones I wanted to give them.)

She let out a sigh as she stood up and returned both of her Pokemon to their pokeballs.

'I can't just sit here all day. There must be something I can do until the boss's next plan is ready to go.'She thought tapping her chin.

A knock was then heard on her door, causing her to stop thinking and walking over to the door opening it. She sighed it was none other than her partner James standing there.

"James, what is it? Does the boss have our next mission?" She asked.

"He mentioned something about Mt. Moon," James stated. "Through that not why I'm here that mission not till a couple of more days. I came to see if you wanted to do anything."

"No, interested but going to change into something and head out to do something by myself," She said waving James off.

'Geez when were not on an assignment. She wants nothing to do with me. Oh well, guess it can't be helped.' James thought as Jessie shut the door to her room.

Red got up from the table as soon as he was done eating his breakfast and started walking off towards the exit ready to head on out.

"Red have you seen Growlithe?" Mrs. Ketchum asked.

"He is probably sleeping under the couch or something," Red replied. "Any way you coming to see what pokemon I pick?"

"I'm going to find Growlithe first," She said. "Go on ahead my young adult."

Red nodded and step on outside. He sighed knowing a lot of his friends had already gone on their own Pokemon journeys.

"Well, well. Look what we got here," An annoying voice said. Red sighed and looked up to see none other than Blue standing in front of him. No Blue was not a friend if anything he was a pest."Loser how have you been?"

"Don't act like you care Blue," Red said avoiding him. Blue was one of his least favorite people. They hated each other more than anything. Especially as kid Red grew up unlike Blue and does his best to just ignore him.

Blue was a year older than Red. When he was ten he quit school to become a Pokemon trainer, but choose to learn more about Pokemon in Pokemon school for a while before going on a journey. Red found it a waste no matter what you learn it won't help you unless you try doing it yourself.

"Leave me alone and grow up Blue," Red said walking towards the laboratory.

"Your attitude is the reason you don't have a lot of friends," Blue said.

Red ignored him and walked into the lab and was greeted by Professor Oak.

"Ah, Red there you are," Professor Oak said.

"Good morning, Gramps," Blue said entering the lab.

"Blue! You're here on time as well," Professor Oak said. "The reason I wanted you here at a certain time. Is that I need you two to get important parcels. Red you need to go to Viridian City Pokemart, the shopkeeper will hand you the parcel. And Blue go to the Pokemon League front gate on Route Twenty Two, the guard will hand you the second parcel."

"What's in them?" Red asked.

"You will find out," Professor Oak said. "But first choose your starter Pokemon. Have you two decided which Pokemon you want?"

"Yeah," Red replied knowing which Pokemon he wants to pick.

"Yes," Blue said. "Ladies first through Red," He smirked.

Red rolled his eyes and looked at the table. The first Pokeball contained Bulbasaur a cute grass type but wasn't wanted. The second was Chamander a cute firey lizard. Then last was Squirtle a powerful water type and cute like the other two.

"Choose wisely," Professor Oak said.

"I choose Charmander," Red said grabbing Charmander's Pokeball. Red sent out Charmander.

"Chamander!" He said. Red hugged him with a smile on his face.

"Easy," Blue said. "I choose Squirtle." He picked up Squirtle's Pokeball.

"See you later Gramps," Blue walked out of the lab to get the parcel.

"I will get going now too," Red said returning his Chamander and headed out of the lab as well to go get the other parcel.
