"Clark, what do you think you're doing?" Asked Batman, "Oh, hey Bruce, just checking up on some things in our solar system, never know when something is going to happen." Superman replied back while still going over the watch tower's monitors. "Right, and when is the last time you have gotten some sleep?" Asked Batman. Superman sighed, and turned around to face his long time friend. The watch tower's grey walls and overlapping monitors always made the place feel bigger than it was when you were alone, and when somebody was with you, it felt closed in. "Listen Clark, leave the paranoid stuff to me, it just doesn't suit you" Batman said jokingly. Superman chuckled, his friend never seemed to have a sense of humor but when he did, it was extremely dry. It suited him, unlike the behavior Superman was having. "I'm sorry Bruce, it's just ever since Darksied invaded the earth, he nearly killed everyone I care about. I guess my paranoia has just spiked up sense then." Superman said with a sigh. Batman nodded and said "I understand Clark, I really do. But even you need rest. "Man of steel" " Batman said with a small smile. Superman smiled back, then suddenly, the alarms go off. Green lantern's image starts on the largest screen in the room. "Hal, what's wrong?!" Batman asks, "A rip in space just opened near Jupiter, I was still patrolling the system when I saw it." Lantern replied. "We'll be out there in a minute, Bruce, I'm gonna get a headstart." Superman said while running towards the exit of the room. "Understood, I'll get the my equipment ready." Batman said.
Superman was now flying through space, going faster than mach 7 to reach Jupiter. He saw lantern near the rift. It looked like a sickly cut across space and time. The rift strangely showed what looked like a blue clear sky, it was weird but not the weirdest thing Superman has seen throughout his career. Now close to lantern, the two heroes look at the rift, both were talking about what they could possibly do to close it. Then, out of nowhere. The rift started expanding more, pulsating with energy. Knocking the two heroes back. Lantern covered both of them with an energy shield. "Whatever this thing is, it's very dangerous, any ideas?" Lantern asked. Superman thought, what could they possibly do? The rift was expanding and Doctor Fate was not in this dimension at the moment. Superman looked at the rift again, it increased in speed, then he heard it, with his super hearing. The planet Jupiter was moving, whatever this rift is exerting, it's overcoming Jupiter's mass and slowly but surely moving the planet closer to the rift. If there was another planet on the other side, potentially billions of people on the other side could die if Jupiter collided with the planet. Superman made a choice, most rifts in his experience would close after an object would go through it. With a single movement, faster than lantern's senses could comprehend. Superman smashed the shield holding both of them. Green lantern would have been able to brace for Superman's punch had he seen it coming. Or had Superman told him what he was going to do.
"SUPERMAN NO!" Green lantern shouted while the last son of krypton went through the rift. Superman was free falling, going through the rift had distorted him, making his senses go haywire. He landed in field, next to a small town. Superman got up and dusted himself off, "Not exactly my best landing.." Superman said while looking around. He looked up and saw the rift had closed. "Well, at least that worked, now to figure out where I am." Superman gently floated up, allowing himself to readjust. He then started causally flying near the town he saw. Superman landed in front of a gas station, the door sign read open, and in the window he could see a teenager, blowing a piece of gum. The teenage boy didn't seem to be paying attention to anything in particular. Which probably why he didn't notice Superman until he got close. The teenage boy jumped, clearly startled by the newcomer. The teenager looked up and saw a older man in a red and blue costume, with an giant yellow and red S symbol on his chest. "Hello son, didn't mean to frighten you but do you know what town this is? I'm new to the area." The stranger asked in a polite tone. The teenager was a bit taken aback, the man that was talking to him looked like a super but was extremely polite, supers had been in this gas station before and had been nowhere near as polite as this man. Some even tried to convince to give them free stuff, on account of their "heroics". "Uh, well Sir, you are in the town of lakemire. Lakemire Pennsylvania." The teenager said. "Thank you, and do you now where I might find some clothes. I'm afraid I lost some of mine in a accident." The stranger asked again. The teenage boy simply told Superman that a thrift store was near where he could buy cheap clothes. Superman thanked the boy and walked out of the gas station. He noticed a sign that was near the thrift store that he was walking to. "Come see the Seven in a spectacular show near you! For a once in a lifetime chance, the Seven will all be showing up a concert near lakemire Pennsylvania!"
Superman read the sign and was interested in what it meant, he saw where the concert would be held. He decided he would check it out after looking through the thrift store. After the concert he would start figuring out how to get home.
Luckily Superman always carried some spare money in his pockets. He bought a humble attire, a gray shirt with blue jeans, white sneakers, and a blue jacket. The casual clothes would help hide his suit. After walking out of the store, Clark made his way to where the concert would be, when arrived, he noticed the cars that were parked everywhere, there were white tents. The sunny but not too hot day made the place feel peaceful. While walking by the tents, Clark noticed a lot of superhero merchandise. He saw toys with the names, Homelander, Queen Maeve, the deep, black noir, a-train, starlight, and translucent. Interesting names, and if they toys are anything to go by, the look like versions of us. Superman thought to himself while making his way through the tents, he heard something with his super hearing, "These cock suckers will believe anything we say, hell, I'm the Homelander and as usual I can do whatever the fuck I want."
"What the hell..." Clark muttered under his breath while making his way into the growing crowd. There, twenty meters ahead of the surplus of people was a stage, supporting the stage was a curtain that looked like the american flag. Clark had a strange feeling in his gut, then, there was two explosions of confetti on the stage, red , white, and blue like the american flag as well. Several people stepped out onto the stage.
"Hello Lakemire Pennsylvania!" The blonde headed man shouted, "It's me, the Homelander! Are you ready for the best day of your lives!?" The man shouted with exaggerated enthusiasm. Clark noticed all but the black suited one shift around uncomfortably. They seemed... nervous? Clark thought to himself, maybe most of them just have a bit of stage fright, lord knows I did. Clark continued to examine the "heroes" of this world. He then heard something strange, Clark turned and walked out from the crowd. Clark used his senses to notice three black vans where parked just outside of the white tents. Then, alarmingly, multiple armed men got out of the trucks. Clark was just about to do something when suddenly, "Hey buddy! Where do you think your going?!"Clark turned, the blonde man who he know knew was the Homelander had noticed him leaving the crowd. Before Clark could answer, the armed men from earlier fired into the crowd.
