About a month after the great moving out party, Ethan came home from work to see both Jackie and Mia, hard at work on their laptops.
"Did she tell you about the shrink thing?" Jackie asked, turning around to see Ethan as he walked through the door.
"The recommendation from Angel about seeing Dr. Skoda?" Ethan asked. "She told me about it right after they gave her the card."
"You're fucking kidding me." Jackie said. "And the two of you just took it?"
"I didn't want to cause a scene." Mia said, holding her hands up.
"And I was just there as a bystander." Ethan said, going behind Mia and kissing her on the top of the head. "How are you feeling?" He asked.
"Like absolute complete fucking shit." Mia said. "How was work?"
"It was a slow day, nothing to complain." He said, going behind her and massaging her shoulders, something he had started to do often. "How's the book writing going?" He asked, looking towards Jackie.
"We've actually written a lot." Jackie said. "It's been like two months since we started officially writing, and we're already 3/4 done writing our drafts, then when we're done we put all the pieces together in order and off to our editors."
"Wow, great job." Ethan said.
"Ramsey, since you had a laid back day at work, you wouldn't mind pulling a Gordon Ramsey and making something would you?" Jackie asked. "Mia can barely stay standing for longer than ten minutes today, and everything I touch burns to ashes."
"What?" He asked, looking down at Mia in shock, as she closed her eyes and cringed.
"Back nerve pain and pelvic bone pain has just been especially excruciating today." Mia said.
"She didn't even say anything about it, she just looks like she's dying whenever she has to get up to go to the bathroom every 5 seconds." Jackie said.
"Can you stop being a snitch?" Mia said.
"I'll make food." Ethan said, breaking up the imminent argument. "What do we want?"
"Up to Mia." Jackie said.
"Awww, look at Jack being generous." Mia said. "But, honestly I've just been craving some good ol' cream cheese on raisin bread."
"That actually sounds repulsive." Jackie said, looking at her with disgust.
"I'll also make some quick chicken wings for the rest of us non-pregnant individuals." Ethan said, as Mia looked to him suddenly with wide eyes. "Or all of us." He said, as she smiled. He kissed on the head once again, before going into the kitchen.
Mia and Jackie decided to follow him, taking their laptops and going into the kitchen, sitting on the stools at the kitchen island, the act leading to Mia grimacing as she sat.
"I still can't believe you guys just let Angel give her that recommendation, completely out of nowhere." Jackie said.
"Did you not tell her earlier?" Ethan asked, since it had been a month since the suggestion.
"No, I told her pretty much right before you came because I was saying how I have the appointment with Dr. Skoda tomorrow." Mia said.
"How dare Angel bring that up out of nowhere during a party?" Jackie asked. "They probably knew that you didn't want to make a scene because it was a big thing."
"I don't think so, they just know what Rafael went through, and they said that my 'history' with the hospital is concerning enough that they suggested setting up a meeting." Mia said. "And I decided I'll take it, and I'll just talk and say shit so that I don't have to see Skoda every week."
