Joshua groaned at the sound of his alarm the next morning. He and Olivia hadn't gone to sleep until after four in the morning, so he was already running on less than three hours of sleep. He reached for his phone on the table at the end of his couch and shut the alarm off as quickly as possible, not wanting to wake Olivia. He sat up to stretch and was relieved to see Olivia still curled up in a blanket on the short side of his sectional couch, seemingly undisturbed from her sleep. He left the room quickly but quietly, sneaking into his bedroom to grab a change of clean clothes before heading into the bathroom for a quick shower. He grabbed his wallet and keys and snuck out of the apartment, his hair still damp from his shower. He walked around the streets of downtown Salt Lake until he stumbled upon a small coffee shop, one he recognized. Olivia had dragged him there early one morning back when they were dating, she desperately wanted him to try their crepes. He headed inside to grab breakfast and coffee for the both of them before heading back to his apartment, praying that Olivia hadn't woken up and left already.

He was relieved when he slipped back into his apartment to see Olivia was still there. She was sitting on the couch wrapped up in a blanket and scrolling through her phone sleepily.

"Hey," she smiled at him once she noticed he was back. "I thought you ditched me."

"I did, but it was just to bring you breakfast and coffee," he joked, holding up the bag of food and tray with two cups of coffee.

"Ooh, yay," she clapped her hands together quietly as he sat down next to her, handing her the to go container. "Thank you." She was delightfully surprised when she opened it to reveal her one of her favorite breakfasts in the world, she couldn't believe he remembered that. They ate together in comfortable silence, aside from a few comments about the song they'd written.

"Are you going to be okay going home?" Joshua asked Olivia, worried about her going back to Adam after his violent outburst the night before.

"Yeah, I'll be fine," Olivia nodded her head. "He just takes a second to cool down."

"Will you text me when you're home safe?"

"Yes, of course," she smiled. "Hey, I need to run, but will you record yourself singing the second verse of the song? I need to have it to play for the producers on Monday."

"Why do you need me singing it?" Joshua told her.

"Because we wrote it together. You worked on it just as much as I did."

"But this was something they asked you to do. It's your song, Liv," he said.

"It's our song," she argued. "It's a duet, Josh. I'm not doing it without you."
