KIT

He rubbed his eyes as he lifted his head from his pillow. The sun blazed into his room from the large window that took up almost his entire wall. As usual, he pulled his black out curtains to cover the sheer curtains his mom thought was such a great idea to put up. He then reached over to turn his personal heater up a couple more notches since it was colder than usual.

Kit had nothing planned today and that is what stressed him out. He usually had a motive for every day but after fighting his friend less than twenty-four hours prior, he couldn't think of anything to do. He just sat in bed and waited for his empty brain to start functioning again. The phone buzzing on his nightstand was a great start.

Did you beat his ass ? XD

He simply chuckled at the text before throwing his phone back down on the hard surface. It was now eight o'one and still nothing. "A shower!" He chirped out. Suddenly, his mind was running a million miles a minute.

Showering seemed like the only way to rinse away the day before so that's what he did. Scrubbed his skin, washed his hair, and applied a in-shower face mask. Kit found himself standing under running water for fifteen minutes which is what the face mask directions said.

He had the time to think but he was scared too. He didn't want to recall the day before and how he broke down that night. Kit was scared he was losing everything he enjoyed about life. The constant reminder that he chose all of the things that shifted his future was unbearable. What made it worse is that his future constantly didn't choose him.

Then the fifteen minute alarm on his phone went off. "Hey Siri, stop." He rinsed his face and quickly got out the shower to moisturize his skin and put on his running clothes. Another way to keep his mind clear was to focus on not spraining his ankle as he took a jog throughout the neighborhood.

"Where are you going, Christopher?" His mother called from the island counter in the kitchen. "You're not going to eat breakfast?"

"Can't run on a full stomach." Kit rushed in to give her a kiss on the cheek then dashed straight out the front door. His neighbor, who also runs every morning, just passed him as he reached the main sidewalk. "Hello, Mr. Garrett!"

"Morning, Christopher!" The man then crossed the street to take his usual run which consisted of leaving the neighborhood. Kit normally took the route within the gated community.

When he ran, he ran. Kit didn't know when to stop unless he was in absolute pain. He once felt it so bad in legs that he almost had to be sent to the emergency room. Lucky for him, he was just being dramatic. April used to be there to massage wherever it hurt but he dropped her for a girl who can't even choose whether she likes or hates someone she says she doesn't like.

Kit quickly shook the thought out of his head as he made another turn at a stop sign. This time he was in a familiar part of his neighborhood. It was known as the party spot since it's the only part where residence can have a successful party and not get the cops called on them. It was also where Harvey resided. Kit felt his stomach tighten at the thought of jogging past his house so he crossed over to the other sidewalk.

Taking one glance as he jogged by was all he needed to see that certain vehicle parked out front. "What the fu-" He couldn't even finish his sentence as he slammed into a hard surface. That surface being someone's car blocking the sidewalk.

"My god!" A young male voice called out while rushing over to the scene. "I knew I backed up too far. I'm high as a kite right now."

Kit peeled his back off the ground himself since this person was also too high to notice he needed a bit of help getting up. "I can tell," he groaned while stretching out his back. Kit looked towards the garage of the home and saw that there was so much space between this red car and the garage that a truck could fit. "You parked almost in the damn road!"
