Chapter 1:
"Today was probably the worst day of my life, seriously. Not only I got shouted and got in detention by the most annoying teacher Mrs Collen but I also got a B- in my Chemistry Test. I freaking that stupid subject, I mean atoms and elements and acids, blah blah, OMG, I just hate it. Plus, I even got to a stupid detention with the world's greediest teacher in the world, she put in detention because I fucking accidentally hit her with a paper roll while attempting to throw it into the bin. Like what? I am not spitting at you, I am not throwing textbook at you, I just threw the damn paper roll, its just paper for god's sake. Whatever. I need to do homework now. Bye diary."
So I closed my pinky girly diary that my mom gave me for my birthday present and turned my Math textbook open to do my homework. It is due tomorrow and I have like about 20 questions to do, shit. Even worse, its about algebra, the thing that I want to throw out of the window the most. I mean why would you always make me find the x, I haven't even have a boyfriend yet. (see what I did there) But honestly, to the guy that invented algebra, no actually, to the guy who invented Math in general, I know it is useful sometimes but like why, why..... Ok, stop Ella, just do the damn homework.
"Ella! Dinner time!" my dad shouts from downstairs.
I slam my book close and run down the stairs like crazy because I am literally craving for some food. I pull my chair out and sit next to my sister who was on her phone chatting with some guy, some guy who probably is asking her out on a date because she looks hella excited. We have lasagna for dinner, it was so good, like my dad literally makes the most delicious Italian dishes. When we finish eating, I stand up and help my mom clean the dishes like I always do.
"How was school today, Ella?" my mom asked while trying to clean the burnt bits that got stuck on top of the pan.
"It was fine mom, I got in a detention with Mrs Collen." I answered. "And before you ask why, the reason was amazingly stupid." I continued just in case my mom thought I did something bad.
I was wrong, she actually thought I did something bad and "amazingly stupid detention" for my mom is "Oh! A reason for me to shout at her".
"What did you do?!" shouted my mom, it was pretty loud because I was standing like right next to her. "When did Ella Whitfield ever got into a detention?"
"Um...just this afternoon?"
So I end up arguing with my mum about the detention, why it was stupid, why I hate Mr Collen and she finally, after 20 minutes she finally believes me it was stupid. Yep, I spent 20 minutes of my life talking to my mom about something that should have been a big deal. Then suddenly, my dad calls me over to the living room where he is sitting with my sister. He pats on the spot on the sofa next to my sister and tells me to sit down. His face is quite serious, it reminds me of that face he made when Junnie (that is my dog by the way) pooped everywhere when we first got him and he has to clean the whole house up, the face my dad pulled was so funny.
“I need to tell you girls something” he said.
I hope he is about to tell us something excited, like we are going to vacation or he got us tickets to Disneyland, or even he is about to get us an awesome new dog because I really want a golden retriever so I could slide my hands on its soft fur every time I come home.
But, who I am kidding? His face is so serious.
“So the thing is the school I am currently working for is about to shut down due to lack of students and the teachers there are getting piss off because they don’t earn enough money to have a good living. I have wanted to tell you guys this earlier but didn’t really have the time so….” He said with quite a low tone.
