Hero Among Shadows

Chapter 8

To say that Midoriya is frightened would be an understatement. In fact, he is downright terrified at what is happening. A good majority of the class-himself included-have been scattered all throughout the building. He, along with Asui and Mineta, have landed in the Flood Zone and were surrounded by villains that were swimming in the water.

Luckily, he came up with a plan to trap all of them in and they all managed to escape. When they get to the edge of the zone, the three students watch as their teacher is dealing with a large group of villains all by himself.

While all this was happening right in front of them, Asui-or perhaps the greenette should call her Tsu-asks him if he has a plan for what to do next. He suggested that they should try and call for help when they get the chance.

It's during this that they hear the villain with the hands complain about All Might not being here. The mist villain from before appears by his side.

"Tomura Shigaraki," the mist villain says.

"Kurogiri," the now named Shigaraki asks. "Did you kill Thirteen?"

"I put Thirteen out of action, but there was a number of students that I was unable to disperse, and one of them managed to escape."

"Huh?"

'Someone managed to get out?' Midoriya thinks, clearly surprised. 'That's good. That means help's gonna be on the way.'

Shigaraki is clearly upset upon hearing the news, as evidenced by the way he's violently scratching at his neck. First with one hand, then with both.

"Kurogiri," Shigaraki seethes in anger. "If you weren't my warp gate out of here, I would've crushed you into pieces right now."

But instead of continuing to be angry about it, Shigaraki stops his scratching before saying in a dejected voice. "We can't possibly win against dozens of pro heroes. It's game over for now. We're going home."

This catches the ears of the three students, who are understandably surprised at what they heard.

"They're going home?" Mineta asks. "Did he just say that they're going home?"

"Yeah. That's what I heard," Asui replies in confirmation.

"That's amazing! We're saved!" Mineta says in celebration. He is also hugging the frog girl while doing so. During his hugging, the short pervert 'accidentally' gropes her chest for about a short few seconds before stopping.

"Hey guys, does anyone else feel cold right now?" he whispers. An expression of fright is etched upon his face as he was whispering.

This catches the two greenettes' attention, before they also get the cold feeling. They then hear the doors to the Downpour Zone open, which gets all three of them to turn their heads to see who was coming out.

What they see is a guy in a military outfit that's been modified in some way, with his head being entirely hidden underneath an all-white mask with a large black "X" on the front of it. He appears to be walking angrily towards Shigaraki, from what they're seeing.

"What is that guy doing?" Mineta asks his classmates, clearly nervous.

"I have no clue, ribbit," Asui answers quietly. "But I don't think he's someone to mess with."

To think that these vermin would try and invade a hero school, let alone one like U.A. High. They have to be either incredibly gutsy, or incredibly stupid, if they think that they can pull a stunt like this. The one with the hands all over him, whom he deduces is the leader of these living piles of filth, is not going to be shown any form of mercy whatsoever.
