A calm day

I was calming sitting on a park bench downtown, not much has happened today unlike most days. It's starting to make me uneasy, I mean you would feel that too if you were in my position but I digress, it's whatever I'll just have to find something, anything, to keep me busy.

I walk across the city as I see a dog all alone he looks kinda old and worn out, poor thing. I walk over and let it smell my hand before I give it a pat on the head and get on with my day. I don't get why it's calm today, it looks so cloudy, so boring, maybe that's why nothing is happening.

I sound like I like crime, I don't, but It's the only thing that keeps me on my feet anymore. I don't have family near me and I don't want a lover at least I don't think I do. Anyway what's the point if you fight crime to have a love interest you know from every movie out there that the "villain" will use them against you.

I have friends but they don't take their jobs seriously so there is no point of talking or hanging out with them if they are just as bad as the so called "villains". I sigh as I realize I've gotten to my favorite coffee shop. I love it here it's the only place keeping my sane in the God forsaken lonely city

(The coffee shop looks like this btw)

I walk in as I realize no one is here only the workers

I walk in as I realize no one is here only the workers. I open my mouth to speak but interrupted by the barista "welcome to the garden coffee shop, get what you want it's half off"

she sounds tired I hope I'm not a bother.
"Uh- hi again! It's just me ———" "oh! I'm truly sorry if I sounded pissed. I'm uhm..not having the best day right now" she flashes me a smile but I can tell it wasn't genuine.

I laugh to myself as I look at them. "no need to be sorry we all have those days, I'll just take a dark coffee with a bit of cream and a biscuit." She smiles at me and puts in my order. "That'll be 5.95" "hear you go, a 20, keep the extra for yourself" she suddenly looks for upbeat as a gleam in her eyes spark. "I'll have it done in no time!". I watch as she leaves to the kitchen, she's very nice and I'm glad I could make her smile.

I sit down at the table in the back, just because no one is there doesn't mean I have to sit so close to the counter. I may be a "hero" but I hate attention on my days off.

I got bored so I pulled out my phone to see 10 miss calls from my mom, I love my mom, she's not all too bad. she's the only one who raised me and I love her for that, but as I got older I say she just used me for child support. I call her back as I'm not rude.

"Why didn't you answer me.."

"I was busy my apologies mother."

"to busy for your mother?"

"No I just put my phone on silent.."
