The world was tainted with cruelty and despair, there was no passing over it. The lives of many were taken under one single night, whether it be a family or individuals, there was no peace found within the battlefield they call their home.

Though, amidst the beautiful yet cruel world they live in, Sanemi Shinazugawa found someone whom made his heart skip a beat, stomach churn with countless of butterflies fluttering inside; a certain demon slayer that placed his tired soul to rest and filled his life with pure ecstasy.

Their eyes held a war zone inside them, battling between their emotions, and Sanemi knew it all. He was the first to figure out the mystery behind those blue eyes; a fine color that compelled him since the very beginning.

Sanemi was enthralled by their beauty, he wanted to leave imprints all over them, show the world that the Water Pillar was his, and only his. But under strict circumstances, that was impossible. He was red, they were blue, and the world was not prepared to see purple.

   "You're spacing off again,
'Nemi."

Light footsteps stopped beside Sanemi as the face of the male he grew to love made an appearance, the crescent moon reflecting into his eyes. He could feel his lips twitch into a small smile as he spoke in a low whisper, "Did I ever tell you how beautiful you look under the moon's grace, Giyuu?" Reaching a hand up to his profile, Sanemi tucked a strand of his loose raven hair behind his ear.

Sanemi inched closer and held his hand into his own, staring into Giyuu's eyes as he watched his pale cheeks dust with a hue of pink, causing him to chuckle. It didn't take much to fluster the raven head as he was not used to flattery. A characteristic that was absolutely adorable to him.

"Don't say something so embarrassing."

"It's the truth. You're gorgeous. I want to kiss you all over and tell the world how damn lucky I am to have someone like you in my life."

Giyuu squirmed, his heart drumming against his chest, a smile breaking out. "'Nemi..." He giggled softly, sending the other to a state of euphoria. The sweet sound was like a melody to his ears, unable to get enough of it. Sanemi loved his laugh, his smile; everything about him.

"You're like an angel, Yuu." Sanemi whispered, resting his forehead against his, not daring to break eye contact. "You saved me from a pit of emptiness, you are the reason why I'm so happy."

The raven head softened at his words, his lips beginning to quiver. "I should be the one saying that.." Giyuu started, a hearty laugh escaping him. "You might've been an ass at first but.. it was worth the wait. You're the stars that guided me through the dark." He finished as water droplets clouded his eyes, Sanemi quick to wipe them away with the pad of his thumb.

Sanemi couldn't withstand the waterworks so he allowed himself to be vulnerable, tears of his own staining his cheeks. Though, they didn't convey the usual meaning of sadness; it conveyed the warmth and happiness that he feels beside Giyuu Tomioka. He was at peace with him, he felt alive.

"I love you so much, Giyuu. I'm so sorry. I'm so fucking sorry. I don't deserve someone as amazing as you." Sanemi sobbed through his words, his runny nose provoking another laugh from Giyuu; it never failed to amaze him, the world around him would stop for a long minute as he stared at his loving boyfriend. "But, that doesn't mean I'll give you up to anyone." Sanemi smirked.

"As if I'd want to be with anyone other than you, 'Nemi. I love you and that's how it will stay. You feel this here?" Giyuu held his hand to his chest, the intense drumming vibrating against Sanemi's hand. "This right here is only yours."

Sanemi's laughter filled the empty night air, his eyes crinkling under the moonlight. "You're too cute, Giyuu. God, I'm so lucky. I'm so damn lucky." He softly smiled, lifting Giyuu's palm to his cheek and melting into his touch.

A brief silence fell upon them, the evening breeze wafting through their soft locks, enjoying the beautiful night; a patchwork of stars aligning themselves across the navy sky. All that was needed was the other's presence and nothing more.
