Ben's mournful, puffy brown eyes turn towards me. "Grandmother taught me how much I meant to her. She taught me so many things, cousin Loli." His statement weighed misery. His eyes change towards his fumbling fingers as tears spill over.
"She just never taught me to say goodbye." Accumulating tears run. "Why did she have to die? Why her? She was my grandmother Loli. I miss her terribly." Wrapping my arm across his broad shoulders, I drew his head into my chest. "Cousin" Crying with him,Pounding footfalls, breaking the silence, abruptly halt. Uncle Reuben appeared in the doorway, swirling ripples of Emerald & Forest green eyes glowing ferociously. Till he saw where Ben sat crying. Immediately calming, silently, uncle Reuben left. Closing the door in his departure. After this, Ben never came inside again.
