The invisible wall deformed like water flowing through the air as Annus kicked against it. He staggered backwards, almost losing his balance. »It's no use,« Unus said. They must have been trying for hours now. Neither Annus's physical power, nor the low level magic Rouge had showed him had any effect. Even the dagger hidden away in a pocket in Rouges sleeve didn't faze the barrier.

With an exhausted sigh, Annus sat down. The room wasn't much different from the one they were in before. It was bigger, more the size of a shared apartment. There where three bedrooms each with their own bathroom, and a large living space attached to an open kitchen. The conjoined room was framed by a huge window, spanning over the entirety of the outer wall. Far below them, the city of Atlantis shone in an unnaturally blue light. None of the ways people had imagined quite fit, yet all seemed to be scarily accurate at the same time. There was no such thing as one defining architecture in Atlantis. Buildings of white marble stretched their pillars towards clear globes seemingly floating in the air, many of them big enough to fit whole houses. The minimalist bodies of modern, linear buildings were conncted to each other by plastered streets which looked as if they were build by hand. The sky above seemed endless, a deep shade of dark blue. At the moment, it layed still, but the first time Unus had payed closer attention to it, it had been swirling in hues of light blue, purple, red, pink and even some yellow. It had looked as it someone had spilled the sunset all over the sky.

He jumped in his seat as a voice echoed through the otherwise quiet room. »I am deeply sorry for how things have turned out.« Norbert Moses had appeared out of thin air, standing in front of the kitchen table. »Be assured, this containment is only for a limited time. Once we can be sure you won't try to escape or endanger the city, you will be allowed to freely move through it.«

Annus jumped from his chair like a snake trying to catch it's prey, grabbing Moses by the shirt. Or rather, trying to grab Moses by his shirt, because his hands went right through the priests chest. »As you can see, I am merely a hologram. Attacking me has no use.« He went on to explain, »You will get three meals a day. The ones bringing it to you will be accompanied by guards, so don't try fleeing.« His face softened. »We mean you no harm. Perhaps we can work together and find a way to stop your timer. None of us, neither the Illuminati nor I want you to die. Even if you can't leave, we will do everything we can to help you.« A flicker ran through the hologram.
»I will leave you be now. Please think about my offer. The sooner you are allowed out of the room, the sooner we can work on a solution.«
