Language, scary stuff, blood, talk of eating souls
"Alex!" Steve rushed over to her and knelt down. He was horrified by the amount of blood there was on her clothes.
Steve glanced around frantically, wondering if any other parts of his dream were going to happen. He checked her for her pulse and felt it very faint. He sighed in relief, "Alex! Alex!"
No doubt she was unconscious. Steve pondered about what to do. He couldn't just leave her here, some apology that is. He didn't really know what was wrong with her or why she was unconscious. So really the only thing he could do was to take her back to his house and help her out. "That's a much better apology," He muttered to himself as he scooped her up into bridal carry and started walking, until he remembered he didn't know where they were. So he carefully lay her down again and walked around until he found where he went off course. He went back and, to his utter shock and dismay, she was gone. "Shit!"
Running his fingers through his hair stressfully, he began looking around. "Alex! Where did you go?" He had only been gone a few minutes, there was no way she would regain consciousness in that amount of time, Steve knew that much. Had someone taken her? Who was it? Suddenly there was crashing through the brush behind him, he spun around, and was tackled to the ground. He landed harshly on his back, with Alex on top of him. He groaned in pain. "Alex!?"
Her eyes were distant and empty of spirit, filled with evil desire as she stared down at him.
"How-" She grabbed his neck, cutting him off. "No, you listen!" Her voice wasn't hers, it was deep and hoarse sounding. As Steve clutched her wrists, losing air, he noticed a small mark on her neck. He tugged at her wrists but she didn't budge. "You- you, you!" She laughed wickedly. "You can, you can try!"
Something felt so wrong about her voice, and her eyes. It greatly unsettled Steve. And her laugh, that laugh was so evil and sinister it didn't seem human at all.
"You, you can try, you can try all you want! It won't matter in the end! It- It won't-"
Her pupils started dilatating rapidly, and sweat poured down her face. "No!" She yelled in that wicked voice. She staggered to her feet, and forcibly walked straight into a tree. Her body began shaking as she clutched the tree, breathing heavily. Steve shot up to his feet, and slowly walked up to her, holding his throat. "Alex, are- are you ok?"
In a sudden movement she swung her arm and smacked his jaw with the back of her hand, taking him by surprise. He stumbled backward. "You, Steve!" The voice said, no longer hoarse, it was now deep and filled with sinister enthusiasm. Her eyes were no longer green, they were fully cold and black. She laughed again.
"Steve, you remember what I said about toys?" Steve grew cold with horror. She laughed. "Oh, you don't know how much I will enjoy this. It is impossible!" She took a step closer to Steve. "Souls like yours are so entertaining to destroy. Some are just so pathetic! I eat those as a snack! But yours Steve!" She took another step closer, and Steve took one backward. "Yours is different. Yours is ambitious, strong! That's like icing on the cake. And your goodwill is the cherry on top!" She started circling him. "You will learn to embrace the pain. All the pain! I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to it all." She took an enormous step and looked right into his face. "You will writhe with the pain. You will suffer from the agonizing misery!" The voice quieted to a fainter one and it stepped backward triumphantly. "And I? I will savor every second of it. So stay on your toes! Not that it will matter." It laughed a deep, hearty, evil laugh as it echoed away.
The blackness left Alex's eyes and they rolled back into her head as she began to collapse. Breaking out from the shock and terror, Steve rushed forward and caught her before she fell into a berry bush. She was sweating profusely, and had an abnormal breathing pattern.
