A missing piece.

Lilith was in the best mood since she woke up those two weeks ago as she just found out about hidden powers she held. She talked to Maddox, Erros, Wrem and Nolen about how this might have happened. It was clear to everyone that she will need time to train her abilities until she can trust to defend herself entirely. But it gave her hope.

"Say, Lilith." The intensity of Nolen's voice called to her. She looked at him as a way to tell him to continue. "Why are you not scared of what happened?"

"Scared that I killed someone?" Her voice was surprisingly calm.

"Yes."

She took a deep breath and thought a few moments. "I don't know. It's just.. it felt natural to me. Like, I was used to that sometime ago." Her eyes were lost in nothing as she spoke in a delicate tone. "I don't think I'm a good person. I don't remember what I was doing but," she drifted off and smiled softly, "either way, they tried to attack you. They deserved that."

Maddox held himself back from correcting her. They focused on her. Her. Usually the enemies attacking in such a wave focused on the strongest. One might see those wave attacks as programmed bots doing what they were told to do. They had no consciousness. They were created for this from other clans that wanted to weaken their target or generally piss them off. If there were another attack to follow, Maddox would be able to tell. This was just one of the 'piss off' kind. Probably because Maddox declined their attendance to a business meet up.

"Do you dislike what I did?"

Wrem laughed softly, Maddox had a small smile on his lips while Nolen's expression was unfazed as always. Erros looked a tad sad, though.

Wrem sat beside her suddenly, lifting her head with a finger beneath her chin. "Aren't you adorable."

"She's right," Nolen said.

"You have nothing to fear Lilith." Maddox had a somewhat pleased look in his eyes. "That is actually very beneficial for everyone."

She began smiling happily. She did not know why, but she felt an attraction towards them. Not only Wrem and Erros. Everyone she met so far. She was unsure whether to feel excited or intimidated by the fact that there are two more she will get to know.

"Um, can I ask a question by the way?"

"Of course," Maddox answered.

"Does a normal person when turning into a vampire simply become hot or did I end up in the handsome vamps club here?"

Again, the two flirtatious ones in the room laughed, a quiet chuckle coming from Maddox. Though it was not visible on the outside, Nolen loved that joke she made. He loved jokes but was unable to show it.

"It is a trait of being a vampire," the leader finally explained, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"Vampires are beautiful to lull their prey in," Wrem explained in a sweet, yet dangerous tone, twirling a lock of hair around her finger.

"Oh that's good to know." Lillith yawned amidst her sentence, stretching her limbs.

"Are you tired, little one? I can guide you to the sheets if you please."

"I know the way by now. Maybe some other night, Wrem. Thanks, though," she answered casually and walked a few steps away from them. She stopped and turned, grinning at Wrem and waving at the group. "Goodnight."

She smiled to herself as the others called the same to her. It was such an odd sensation that she had. Even though her active life here has just begun with this day it felt as if this house with these people was where she wanted to be. Now and in the future.
