Introduction

          Kings serve the most important role in our world. A steady ruler, to lead our people during hardships. But kings can also be fathers. An important role model, someone who only wishes for the best of their children. They are supposed to provide a loving, safe space, or so many people believe a good father and king should

          Well, if you ever meet those people, please tell them to come visit our "great and mighty" king. Perhaps even ask for his parenting advice. I would love to hear what old man comes up with.

          What I'm trying to tell you here is, if you haven't met my father, you simply cannot say you've met the worst father/king in the world. See for yourself, yes?

          My name is Alora Evergreens, my mother is Edaline Evergreens, and the one and only Dad of the Year award goes to Elijah Evergreens. Though, if you ever call him that to his face, you'd be lucky to have lost one limb leaving. I know, common last name, right? Something about our ancestors leading a group of desperate soldiers...

          Anywho, about 7 years ago, my mother Edaline suddenly died because of unknown causes. Really, it was uncalled for. In fact, I had tea with her just that morning, and she had a doctors' visit three days before that! It always seemed rather suspicious to me, but no one seems to share my concerns.

          Since our queen is gone, my father demanded that I step in as queen, which wouldn't be totally ridiculous if he hadn't refused to step down. So now, I am expected to rule beside him. My mother did teach me some key points of being queen, but she was gone long before she could teach me all of them. Besides, I'm not even old enough to be queen! I'm just about to turn seventeen in a few days, but you need to get to eighteen before you can become king or queen.

          My father always tells me how ungrateful I am, that I am very fortunate to have what I have. Well, get this, old man. I never asked to be born into a royal family. In fact, I wish so badly that I was a normal girl in this kingdom. Maybe if that was true, I wouldn't have to worry about anyone finding out about my secret..
