Chapter 43

I opened my eyes only to find that I was all tangled up with a snoring dude, with his mouth all open for the whole world to see. I slowly untangled myself as I watch this snoring dude, snore loudly, beside me. His gentle expression and ruffled brown hair makes him look like a five-year old having a pleasant dream.

That made me giggle.

"Greyson." I whispered, poking his cheek. He only grumbled a soft reply, turn his head to the other side and began to snore again. I poked him again. This time, with a little bit of force.

"5 more minutes, Mom." He moaned. "I don't wanna go to work." Then cue in the loud snores.

I let out a small giggle before slowly standing from the bed. I tiptoed towards the bathroom and gently closed the door. You see, since this house only got one room, everyone agreed to let Goofball and I share it. Even though leaving me in a room with him is bad news, they still insist.

I left the bathroom with a towel on my shoulders, hanging around my neck. Greyson must've felt my absence since he arched his back sensing my missing warmth in the bed. But still, I don't think my lack of presence is disturbing his sleep.

For instance, he snores like a monster.

I left the room with a soft thud then slowly descended the stairs. I decided to check the living room to see if everyone had trouble sleeping. Ummm.... I don't think it's the word, though. A very large mat was placed down the cold hard floor. But even though where they sleep is slightly hard, light snores were heard as if they were sleeping very soundly.

Clyde and Winona were spooning at the very end. Megan was beside Winona, her hands resting at Kevin's face. Kevin doesn't seem to be bothered where her hand landed and just snored away. Ace was at the far end, his body all draped up like a koala bear. Rose and Alexa, on the other hand, were snuggling on his toned chest like it was more comfortable than their pillow.

I only giggled at this cute scene. But it only lasted for a few seconds since I noticed Wesley wasn't here. Where has he gone to now? I went to the kitchen, nope. To the basement, nope. Even at the bathroom, still a no.

Letting out a defeated sigh, I got my slippers on and walked outside to greet the cool breeze. But that wasn't the only one greeting me. To my surprise, Wesley was there. He was walking down the beach, barefooted. It seems that he's been tracing his footsteps until it was washed away by the waves.

Good Morning!" I shouted then waved.

Wesley turned his eyes to me then smiled. But after that greeting, he continue what he was doing earlier. Amused, I took my slippers off and ran towards him.

"Hey Wes." I giggled, my cheeks red from laughing.

"Hey Jamie." He grinned. His eyes met mine in a milisecond before landing it back to his foot print at the sand. We watched in silence as it's been washed away by waves. That made me giggle again.

"Is it me or are you going crazy?" He muttered then laughed along with me.

"Can't help it. You look like some kid amused by that."

"Not amused." He chuckled. "Just.... wondering."

"What do you mean?" I asked, tilting my head to the side.

"It's like this..." He trailed off. "When you started doing things that you put a lot of effort on. Do things that in the end will make you happy." He said, walking at the same path he used. I tailed along beside him. "They will not last forever like you think it is." He said, then stopped walking. That made me stop, too. As if by cue, waves came washing our foot prints on the sand.
