luke and michael's wedding night

|requested by @fanficsyay1yay|

"-and cal and i thought it would be weird, having two out of the band dating each other. but they proved us wrong, and i'm glad to say that two of my best friends are now married. we love you guys," ashton finished his speech, raising his glass that was half-full with white wine. the people scattered around the room clapped and took drinks from their glasses and ashton smiled at michael and luke as he sat down.

michael -who was closest to ashton- gave his friend a side hug and whispered thank you to him before grabbing luke's hand again.

"alright, we're going to start dismissing tables to go eat, so if you could stay in your seats until your table is called, that would be great. we'll start off with the wedding party," the reception dj announced, gesturing towards the long table in the front of the room that sat michael, luke, and the rest of the wedding party. michael pulled luke up, leading him over to the buffet table to get something to eat. a few people stopped them here and there to congratulate them, whom they gladly chatted with.

dinner went smoothly, with michael and luke sitting at the center of the table, and naturally being the center of attention. there was music softly playing, creating a nice contrast to the silverware scraping on plates and glasses clanking together.

luke was seated at michael's left side, with his mum on his own left. they were having a nice conversation while michael's hand rested on his thigh, the older of the two watching him talk to his mom with a fond smile.

the loud, repetitive sound of a fork tapping against a glass stopped all of the conversation in the room and luke looked around to see who it was that was doing it. he locked eyes with calum across the room, who was smirking next to his mum. soon enough, a bunch of people were doing it and michael rolled his eyes playfully.

"hey! if you stop, i'll kiss him," he said loudly, sitting back in his chair. luke laughed as the clanking stopped and michael smiled in satisfaction, leaning over to luke and giving him a short kiss. a few people cheered, which made luke blush, but he was happy. the day was going perfect so far, and it was all he could have asked for.

. . .

"if i could have michael and luke in the middle of the dance floor, we're going to have the first dance," the dj's voice cut through the room. once again, michael pulled luke to his feet and walked him over to the wooden dance floor, placing a chaste kiss to his forehead. the gesture made luke feel so special, he thought he was going to burst. michael was so careful and delicate when it came to him, it made him feel like a princess.

the soft strum of a guitar started the song, and michael gave the dj a confused look. the song that was playing wasn't what was supposed to be played, the song he and luke picked out months ago.

"wait, this isn't-" he cut himself off when luke's voice started singing along with the guitar, making his eyes widen. he glanced up at luke who was biting back a smile. "you planned this?" he asked in a hushed tone, wrapping his arms around luke's neck. he wanted to cry, luke was too fucking adorable for him to handle.

luke nodded, his heart fluttering when michael placed a small kiss on his neck. he was proud of coming up with the idea to write a song for michael and play it instead of the song they had originally planned. he thought it would be cute, and apparently a lot of other people did because as soon as they realized that this wasn't planned, a few girls aww'd and the rest were gushing to each other about how adorable they found it.

"i love you so much," michael mumbled, slowly swaying from side to side with luke. despite luke's reputation of being a tall, awkwardly lanky boy, michael had to try his hardest not to trip over his own feet because he wasn't paying attention to anything but the grinning blonde that was holding him tightly. he realized a few things; one, that he loved luke a hell of a lot more now, two, he fucking sucked at dancing, and three, there was at least a hundred people watching how much he sucked at dancing. the last one he didn't care much about, though.
