'I wonder if Eda's noticed that there are no other stands around.' I thought while sitting next Luz who was reading a book. "Emboldened by the dishonor Hecate had shown, Azura lifted had her staff to the cotton candy skies and shouted I challenge you to a witches duel. And look I drew a flip book. Pew-pew-pew-pew." I chuckled at her antics. "Show me the picture." King said, leaning over the book. "What?" Luz asked. "Show me the picture!" Luz turned the book around to show him. "Hah! I can draw better than that. You know they once called me the King of Artists." He said confidently. "Wait, I thought you were the King of Demons? Are you just making this up now?" King's eyes went wide. "Doesn't matter." He said quickly as he noticed me looking at him with a smile. "You know, Kaia paints!" He said, pointing at me. Luz looked at me. "You're an artist, Kaia?" She asked, smiling widely. "I paint, sometimes but I'm by no means a master at it. It just something I do sometimes, anyway what is that book you are reading, Luz?" I asked but Eda just groaned. "Please stop reading that! It's flowery language is an insult to witches everywhere." Eda said while waving her feather duster in Luz's face. I rolled my eyes. "No Eda, it's an insult to you." I smirked and she threw the duster at me.
"Anyway, it's driving away all of our customers." We looked at her confused. "Um, Eda? What customers?" Luz asked. "There probably at the convention." I answered. "Luz! Something amazing is happening today!" Ah, Gus and Willow came running up to us. "Gus, Willow, Hey!" Luz greeted. "Hello, children." I greeted them. Willow waved at me excitedly; she had been writing to me with questions about plant magic and care. I'd admit I was found of the little plant witch, not many found it an interesting choice in magic anymore. "It's the annual convention." She said, holding up a poster. "Students witches get to see all the types of covens before they're placed in one. There's even going to be a mystery guest." Willow said, excited. "A job fair for witches! Eda, Kaia, can we go?" Luz asked eagerly. I snorted a little. Eda hated conventions with a passion. "Absolutely not!" Luz groaned and slid to the floor in disappointment. "Lykaia and I never joined a coven for a reason!" Eda said with crossed arms and I nodded. "Yes, while the idea of the covens might look appealing, you are also giving up a lot your magic as a price." I explained. I never approved of how the coven systems ran. I approved of the idea that covens might be a place where you can find likeminded individuals but to give up your remaining magic in exchange?! No.
We noticed that younger witches look disappointed. "But if that is what you want, we will not judge for it." I answered, not wanting the children to be sad. "Yeah, no judgement. In any case, the three of us haven't been to one since we were girls." "The three of us?" Luz asked, getting up from the floor. "Who's the three of us?! You have a mysterious past! Now we have to go!" Luz was very excited about this. "No!" Eda said. Luz pouted before looking smug. "Okay, then you leave me no choice."
I shook my head while smiling before I turned towards Willow. "Hello Willow, how are your Ruby Orchids doing?" I inquired. Willow grinned at me. "Great! I have changed the soil, just like you said with more fertile mulch and they've been blooming much more." She said, while showing me pictures of the flower in question. "I have questions and theories I want to talk to you about." She continued on before we heard Eda yell. "Stop it! Stop it! Just stop it! I will literally do anything, just stops this!" I laughed at her and she glared at me. I looked at Willow and Gus. "I guess we will be joining you at the convention after all." I said with an amused smile on my face.
Later at the convention center.
I was helping Eda putting a cowl on, trying to hide her enormous hair; it was a bit of struggle. I had cloak on, with a hood over my head. "Are these cowls really necessary?" Luz asked. "Do you think all of our wanted posters are for petty theft." Eda said and the same time, a bunch of objects fell out of her hair. "Well, mostly mine are. Lykaia doesn't have petty theft on her record. But the main thing is we disobeyed the law and refused to join a coven." I nodded. "Eda's right. If we're seen, we got be captured...again." I did not want to confront Belos again, not when he had left me in a state of confusion. Willow approached us, holding onto our posters. "Maybe this informative event will inspire you both to join a coven." She was trying to be helpful but Eda wasn't having it. She drew a spell circle to pull Willow's hood over her head. "Eda!" I said, frowning at her actions. She sighed. "Let's just get this over with."
