Five years later Xiao Zhan is married with a son in an unhappy marriage which is only a perfect one in appearances when he learns of the Wang cop heir's marriage to the heir of Xue tech and their adoption of twin boys. A month later at a gala he sees Yibo with Hao Xuan smiling and laughing at each other giving off the vibe of a happy couple with no effort adding to the gossip going round on how Hao Xuan stubbornly chased after Yibo despite the rejections he continued and finally won him and on how Yibo is happier than he was. Zhan was furious sat Yibo for moving on especially when his wife commented on how he left such a good looking man and if it was up to her she would have held on. This only causes him to drink past his tolerance and somehow ended up with Yibo taking care of him after he slipped in the hallway. On the way to home car he tells Yibo on hope he is happy he has moved on and that he shouldn't think it will hurt him, before passing out he hears Yibo say he's doing everything for himself causing him too have a bittersweet smile a second before he passed out.

Life continues but Zhan is still stick on recalling Yibo and his happiness with memories of him once upon a time making Yibo smile like that. On his day off picking up his son he meets his sons' two befriends Xue Yuan(Sizhui) and Xue Yun (Jingyi ) the dance teacher's kids who he later learns is Yibo who is now known as Mr. Xue Yibo and invited him out for coffee and is jealous of all the attention he gets from others especially Hao Xuan and has to remind himself that Yibo is no longer his and the thought breaks his heart Everytime he sees Hao Xuan dote on Yibo and the kids. He's now constantly thinking of how things would have have been if he had stayed with Yibo and how his son would have another parent who really loved him more than all the Prada and money and how he would be happier but the reality is different so he lets himself be selfish again and already have a friendship with him even if it's centers on their kids and buy the hurt of Yibo treating him like another parent and not someone special like he was and is reminded on how he hurt him years ago but still need him years after.

Zhan finally lets himself accept the truth of Yibo loving someone who is not him a nightmare of long ago coming true so he distances himself and is always reminding himself that Yibo is happy and prays to every deity in the world to let him have Yibo as his and not lose him like an idiot in this life.
