Today was the first day of seeing Charlie back at school. I finally decided that I wanted him so I woke up earlier than usual just so I could look extra nice. I curled my hair and made sure my eye make-up looked nicer than usual. I always say to Reagan and Lanie that first impressions are the most important, especially if you want to leave your mark; and I knew exactly how to do it. My parents usually slept in, and I knew how to get myself ready in the mornings, so I wouldn’t have to worry about the slut patrol. I had on a black shirt and a white cardigan, red skinny jeans, and black pumps. I don’t wear bright lipstick when I wear bold colors like black but since I was so pale, I could get away with wearing red. The small wings I added at the end of my eyes made them look darker yet overall more feminine. It was looking like I was going to get just what I wanted today. I woke up early enough, so now I had nothing to do. I looked around my room for something to do, but most things took too long, and I only had 15 minutes. I noticed a pile of unread magazines and settled on that. Most were either Marie Claire or People, but I had the occasional issue of vogue in there also. I loved Fashion magazines. If you wanted to succeed in high school, you had to be the first with the latest fashions. I was the trendsetter; even if something looked like shit, I made it fabulous, and the next day, everyone would be wearing it. I heard the jingle of keys in the door, and my heart stopped. No one was supposed to be up yet! I listened intently as the steps neared my room, but then they turned left. I let out a breath of relief. It was just Cole. He was most likely getting home from a one night stand. I checked the time, and then realized Reagan was probably already here. I rushed downstairs and saw her pulling into the driveway. I locked the door then went outside to meet her. We started on our way to school, then took the boulevard instead of the highway. “where are we going” I questioned. “If I wasn’t driving, I would punch you right now…. Did you seriously forget the most important day in the year? “Judgment day? Because we already had that, and those freshmen looked pitiful, they’re never going to be popular” I said sadly. “No, dumbass! The annual LaShelRea air soft tournament! Duh!” “Oh shit!” I exclaimed. I don’t have any clothes to do it in. I had a minor panic attack until I realized who I was with. “Hey, pull over? I need to get some clothes out of the back.” Reagan had everything in the back of her car. If she had to, she could probably put on an entire fashion show. I quickly found some Hollister sweats and an Obey sweatshirt. It would have to do.
We soon pulled into the parking lot, and were immediately greeted by Lanie and Nate, who I was assuming were now dating. We chatted for a bit then I started to get bored. “So are we planning on playing air soft at all today?” “Yeah we’re just waiting on a few more people” Nate replied. I scrunched my face up in confusion and he chuckled. “First of all, wow that looks attractive. And second Lanie said it’d be cool if I brought a few soccer friends.” “oh okay, like who? Anyone I know?” I knew the entire soccer team but not all of them were hot, so we just pretended to not know them. “Just Jason, Charlie, and Beck” holy shit! My ex, the guy I slept with and my first kiss were all going to play air soft with us! Um, Lanie im not feeling well, mind coming to the bathroom with me? I guess she sensed my urgency because she nodded and followed me. “hey, I’ll come too” Reagan suggested. “Um, why don’t you stay with the boys?” I replied weakly. When we finally reached the bathrooms she closed the door and locked it, then faced me and crossed her arms. “We need to talk about some serious shit, don’t we? We always bring Reagan to the bathrooms with us. It’s like part of the bra bible or something, ‘When visiting the restrooms in case of emergency, one must always bring all members of the said clique’” she quoted. “It’s just…I uh…well you see… I kinda..well I sorta… I might have… maybe slept with Charlie?” I mumbled the last part and it came out sounding like a question. “YOU WHAT! I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU! YOU DIDN’T EVEN TELL ME! WHAT KIND OF FRIEND DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? “Calm down! I can explain! I just…I didn’t tell Reagan what happened because chris broke up with her and she was crying and she was so upset and so I just didn’t mention anything. Please! Don’t tell her! Not yet!” I begged. Her face softened when she saw how desperate I was to keep this a secret. “Okay, I’ll give you one month to tell her or else I will.” She threatened. I sighed “Deal, but please, don’t bring it up either? I’ll tell her when she’s ready” “Fine! You know me too well!” she chuckled then held her arms open, inviting me for a hug. I embraced her tightly. “Thank You” I whispered. “Forever and always, right?” “Right” I pulled back and we headed out of the building, arm in arm. “So you ready to get your ass kicked?” she taunted. “In your dreams!”
