It was a little past sunrise. The Shepherds were already in full swing. Frederick and Sully were sparring while Maribelle and Virion were playing chess. As usual, Robin was in Chrom's tent discussing their plans for the day. By daytime they kept their relationship strictly business so the others wouldn't catch on.
"So, what do you propose we do? The Risen are rumored to be numbered in the hundreds."
"Ah, but that's all it is. A rumor. It's probably much less than that. You know how when words spread around, they tend to change."
"I see. What is your best advice?"
"We send out a few of the Shepherds to scout the area, our strongest ones in case they get caught in a Risen attack. When they come back we'll have an actual estimate on how many are out there. I already have plans on who to send..."
"Who?" Chrom started to scoot closer to Robin. Why was he so damn cute when he talked strategy?
"U-um," he scooted over a little, not used to affection during daylight.
"If it's alright with you...We could send uh.." He felt Chrom's fingers making circles on his back."W-we could..u-um..." He shooed Chrom's hand away. "Not now! Please, I'm trying to think."
"S-sorry." He pulled his hand away, feeling slightly rejected.
"It's all right. I just need to focus. Now, we could send all of the Shepherds...except us. They would go scout the Risen, and uh...We'd have the camp to ourselves for the day."
"Robin! Thats..."
"I know. It's selfish of me. We just don't get time to ourselves other than our.." he thought about last night and shivered. "...Other than our meetings."
"It is selfish. The only selfish thing you've ever wished for, and that's why I'm allowing it." Chrom smiled, bringing Robin into a tight embrace. "...mmm..you smell good." he burried his face into Robin's neck, kissing it softly.
"We shouldn't...What if someone walks in.." He groaned in pleasure as Chrom left a love mark on his neck.
"W-wait!" he came back to his senses, realizing what had happened. "You can't go leaving marks on me! What if someone sees? H-how bad is it?" He pulled down his collar.
"Its...not that bad." he lied, the mark was bright red and stood out even more on Robin's pale skin. "Okay, it is bad. I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself."
"It's...It's fine. I'll do my best to cover it up when I make conversion with others. I'll try to avoid Frederick and Lissa, though. They would see right through me."
"That's a good idea." Chrom smiled, giving him a small kiss on the lips.
"You really need to take it easy with our affections during the day." Robin still tasted his loves lips on him and a smile broke out.
"Then you have to stop making those adorable faces at-"
"Milord!"
The couple jumped as Frederick walked into the tent.
"You nearly gave me a heart attack! Please give me a warning before entering." Chrom scooted away from Robin.
"I cleared my throat several times outside before coming in here. Plenty of warning was given beforehand, Milord."
Robin stared down at map, drowning out what they were saying. His love mark was as red as his face.
"Good heavens!" Frederick walked over to get a closer look at him. "Your face is as red as a freshly picked strawberry! Are you feeling alright? Should I call Lissa over?"
Robin nervously laughed, getting up and heading towards the exit. "Oh, you worry too much! I'm just a bit under the weather, you see. S-so I'll be heading to my own tent now to rest for a bit. Good discussion today, Chrom! Hopefully everything goes as planned!" He put on his hood and ran out.
Frederick looked over at the prince, "I still don't think he's trustworthy, the way he acts so skittish makes me on edge. For your safety, I will watch over him for the next few days to make sure he doesn't try anything funny."
"Peace, Frederick The Wary! Robin is our prized Tactician. We have simply been working him too hard, let him be alone for a while. Now, if you'll excuse me I have some business to attend to..."
"Of course, Milord." He left Chrom's tent, sighing.
"I respect your wishes, however I am sworn to protect you." he muttered under this breath as he walked away.
