(Nowah's POV)

I met him on a hot summer day. Coday Anderson. The boy who changed my life in ways that both ruined and saved me.

--------------------------------

It was a peaceful day at the community pool, children splashing in the water, hot babes tanning in the sun, it seemed that everyone was having a good time. Everyone but me. I decided to finally take my eyes off of the water and that was when my summer changed. When I looked up, I saw him. And to my surprise, he was looking right back at me. He looked embarrassed that I caught him staring at me, but I really didn't mind. If anything, it made me feel more confident.

As I stood from my spot on the ground, I held eye contact and began making my way towards him.

"Hey." I spoke as I was close enough for him to hear me.

He looked down at the ground, probably because he wasn't expecting me to walk over to him. After a moment of awkward silence, he finally muttered a response.

"Oh, hi, Nowah." he said shyly.

"How do you know my name 🤨?" I was confused. I had never seen this boy before... So how did he know me?

"Aah, yeah. We go to the same school. I'm in your math class,"

Damn, I suppose I should start paying more attention to things around me.

"Oh, yikes. Sorry for not, uh, recognizing you. Anyway, what's your name?"

"My name's Coday. Coday Anderson. A-a-a-a-a-a-a-and it's all right."

"Well, it's nice to formally meet you, Coday." I shot him a smile as I finished my sentence.

"Yeah, you too," he had a small smile on his face as he turned his gaze to the ground.

"I'm gonna go soon, can I have your number?" I asked before flirtatiously winking.

"Uh, yeah sure!"

I can't help but stare at his facial features while he writes his number down on a slim strip of paper. As he finished, I was so caught up in his ocean-like blue-green eyes, that I didn't seem to notice him trying to hand me the piece of paper until he finally spoke up.

"Oh, Nowah, here you go." he said with a blush spreading across his handsome wittle baby face, owo.

I chuckled softly and took the paper from the smaller boy's hand and was able to feel my face begin to match Coday's as it was getting hotter and hotter.

    "Thanks Coday." I began.

He took a step closer to me and a small note fell out of his pocket. I picked it up and began to read it.

'That boy over there... Nowah Stereca... I like him. He probably doesn't even know who I am.. But... that's okay. As long as he stays happy, I think I'll be just fine. 🥺'

    (Coday's POV)

I knew what fell out of my pocket and that it did when it did. I was just too... shocked and scared to do anything about it. As I stared at the spot where Nowah once was, I realized I was doomed. My embarrassment only seemed to grow as he stood and read the letter aloud. But... Instead of laughing and making fun of me, he looked up at me with a small smile upon his face. He looked happy. Although I felt like crying, I couldn't help but form a smile as I saw his beautiful one. He stared into my eyes, (more like my soul 🤣), and shoved the note into his pocket.

"So. Coday... I'll see you around." he sent me another wink before turning around but not moving from where he was.

"Yeah, cya, Nowah." After hearing my response, he finally began walking away.

Man, I can't believe this really just happened. It's taking a lot to not show my excitement from what just took place here. To hide my screams of happiness. This is the best day ever.

    (Nowah's POV)

I walked away from Coday seemingly feeling calm and collected but the second I stepped into my room, I let it all out. I was like a middle-school girl, screaming over some hot anime boy. I didn't even know Coday that well but I already felt like I was in love with the man. I felt bad that I felt this way towards Coday because I knew that Emama liked me. Emama and I have been friends since kindergarten, I can only imagine how much something like this would hurt her.

Although I felt bad for Emama, It's not like I could just stop liking Coday.

After minutes of thinking, I chose to tell Emama what I was feeling. And so, my journey to her house began.
