A month has passed and finally, it's your birthday. You woke up feeling recharged and extremely excited. You even prepared yourself a simple birthday croiffle for breakfast.
You checked your phone to see if somebody messaged you, but there was nothing new on your inbox. Thinking that your friends and family were still asleep, you shrugged it off and prepared yourself to go to work.
At the office, Kun was the first one to greet you.
"Sorry if this is the only thing I could get you for your birthday, Y/N." Kun gave you a tiny box wrapped in a purple ribbon.
You opened it immediately and found a pretty golden necklace.
"Kun, what are you talking about? This is absolutely beautiful!" You hurriedly wore the necklace and thanked Kun.
"Actually, it's not from me." Kun grinned. "It's from Sicheng. Before he left, he asked me to give that to you as his birthday gift."
"Really? Wait, I have to call him."
It's been more than a month since Sicheng left. Your team got used to being incomplete, but sometimes, his absence still makes you feel like something's missing.
"Y/N? Happy birthday! You're so early. I should be the one calling you.
"No, it's okay. I got so excited with your gift that I wanted to call you right away."
"You opened the gift?"
"Yes! And it's so beautiful. Thank you so much, Sicheng!"
"I'm glad you loved it, Y/N." Sicheng answered happily. "So what's your plan for today?"
"Nothing exciting. I'm just staying at the office and maybe invite Ten out for dinner."
"Have fun, Y/N. Enjoy your birthday. I'm sorry, I have to prepare for class today. I'll call you again soon."
You ended the call and started working. You were in a very good mood, thanks to Sicheng and Kun. Your officemates also greeted you and even prepared a simple cake for your birthday. You were thankful for having thoughtful people around you.
Lunch break came and you decided to treat them outside. You figured it would be the best time since you were planning of spending your birthday dinner with Ten who, surprisingly didn't greet you yet.
As you and the rest of the team were heading out of the building, you happened to bump into Jaehyun who was about to go out as well.
"CEO-nim!" Lucas called Jaehyun loudly, making the latter stop and face the group.
"Have you eaten your lunch, CEO-nim?" Seulgi asked.
"Uh, not yet. I'm just done with today's meeting. You're going out for lunch?"
You were quiet the whole time, wishing that Jaehyun would just leave. You were not even paying attention when Yeri took your arm and started talking to Jaehyun as well.
"It's Y/N's birthday today! Would you like to celebrate with us? Y/N's treating us for lunch!"
You were shocked when you heard what Yeri had said. You suddenly turned to Kun who was already looking at you and waiting for your reaction.
"If it's alright with Y/N, then sure." Jaehyun smiled softly, his dimples showing. "Happy birthday, Y/N-ssi." His eyes met yours for a second.
"T-thank you." You bowed slowly. You didn't know what to say anymore, so you signalled Kun to save you.
"Let's go, guys?" Kun immediately got your message. "CEO-nim, you can join us in my car."
Jaehyun nodded and followed Kun with Lucas. You insisted on going with Seulgi and Yeri to avoid further awkward atmosphere with your boss. Since that day when Jaehyun insulted your work, you tried your best not to meet or see him at the office. You were still hurt and you know you somehow deserve an apology.
Surprisingly, the birthday lunch went on smoothly. You were thankful that Yeri and Lucas both have lots of stories to entertain the group. It was enough excuse not to speak especially with Jaehyun.
"Thank you guys for inviting me. Thank you, Y/N-ssi. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day. Happy birthday!"
You were not even able to answer Jaehyun back since he walked away as soon as he gave his greetings when you returned to the office.
As you walked back to your desk, you were surprised to find a bouquet of fresh tulips. It was kind of mysterious that the sender didn't write his name along with his "happy birthday" note.
"Who do you think gave you this?" Kun checked the flowers to look for some clue, but he couldn't find anything.
"I don't know. Maybe it's from Ten? That guy haven't contacted me yet today."
"He's such a sweet friend."
"Yeah, he is. And so are you. Thank you for always being there for me, Kun."
"Anything for you, Y/N. Sicheng would kill me if I leave you alone." Kun chuckled.
You spent the rest of the day at the office, focusing on your work. It was supposed to be an ordinary day, but people around you made your birthday special. Donghyuck also called and promised to visit you the next day since it's a weekend.

"Y/N!"
You were outside the company building and was about to walk on your way home after work when you heard a familiar voice calling you.
"Yuta?"
You found him as soon as you began searching for him. He was outside Ten's car, waving at you. You ran on the way to him, expecting Ten to be inside the car, but he was not. Yuta was alone.
"Y/N, let's go." Yuta's expression was so serious that you somehow felt nervous.
He immediately stepped inside the car, making you follow him.
"Where are we going? Where's Ten?" You felt anxious when Yuta started driving, not even saying a single word. It was too unusual for him to act like this.
"Yuta, is everything okay? Why are you so quiet? You don't even answer my question."
"I'm sorry, Y/N. I just don't know what to do."
"Why? What's wrong?"
"It's Ten."
"What happened to Ten?"
"He...he's sick. He's not doing good."
"Sick? What the hell happened to him? Where's Ten? Did you take him to the hospital?"
"No."
"What if he's hurting? You should've brought him to the hospital!"
Yuta continued driving quietly which made you more worried.
"Yuta, please. Just tell me what happened! Don't keep me thinking!"
Again, Yuta ignored you. You wanted to cry, but you know it won't help you. You tried calling Ten, but he won't answer. It was a long drive until Yuta stopped and parked the car outside Ten's apartment. You hurriedly stepped out and ran towards the apartment's door, but Yuta was fast enough to grab your arm and stop you.
"What?!" You glared at Yuta who was shocked for a second with your reaction.
"Y/N, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..."
"Yuta, please. Just let go of me. Ten needs me now."
Yuta gave up and slowly let you go. He watched you as you opened the apartment door.
"Hyung, give me the ice, hurry!"
You were welcomed by Ten who was holding a bottle of wine, walking around the living room searching for something.
"Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul, what the fuck?!"
