You Kill Me In A Good Way

Chapter Three

        Ariel awaken to Ryan's ring tone going off on her phone. The ringing stops as she reaches over and sees that there is five missed calls from him and a message. She selects the message and listens to it reluctantly.
        "Hey baby I just wanted to say that I am sorry for earlier, I did a horrible thing by leaving you, I can make it up to you. I will be over after you call me."
        She throws her phone at the wall and she buries her head in her hands. The ringing starts again and she gets up and answers the phone.
        "I'll be right over babe okay?" Ryan announces to Ariel.
        Ariel says nothing and hangs up on him. Five minutes later there is a knock at her front door. She goes downstairs, with the blanket in her hands covering her still baren body and opens the door. Ryan steps towards her and takes her face in his hands and passionately kisses her. Ariel takes her free hand and attempt to push him away but his strength overpowers her own. She kisses him back and Ryan takes one hand off of her cheek and closes the front door. Ariel drops the blanket and wraps her arms around Ryan's neck. Ryan pulls away from Ariel's lips and rests his forehead on hers a smile appearing across his lips, he leans his head back and pecks her on the forehead then returns to his original position. Ariel smiles but her smile quickly fades and she pushes Ryan away from her. "You think coming over here and kissing me out of the blue is going to fix everything?!" She yells as she picks up the blanket and covers herself.

        "But...I..." Ryan tries to find the words to say.

        "RYAN! I give all that I am just to keep you with me but in reality you aren't even mine! It drives me insane how all I ever do is try to make this work but you spend your time screwing your side bitches! I love you immensely but you don't feel the same way you used to. We used to be perfect! Remember that time we were at the park talking, when we were still just friends, and I was beginning to cry because Trevor had broken my heart, but you sat there and listened to me complain? Then you got up off the swing and kissed me for the very first time, and said...and I fucking quote it, you said "All you need is me. I have been here for so long, right in front of you, all I want is for you to love me back" and I started balling and gave you the biggest hug ever? Do you not remember that?!"

        "I...I do...b-but..." Ryan continues to stutter.

        "And how about when you asked me to junior homecoming?!  You made the cutest poster, and I fell in love...Thing is I can't seem to pick myself back up because you caught me...I am only hanging my a thread now, you basically already dropped me, but I STILL LOVE YOU!" Ariel wraps her blanket around her body and runs upstairs, Ryan races after her, but by the time he gets upstairs she is already half way dressed.

        "I never wanted to hurt you!" Ryan yells at her as she pulls on her crew neck that says "My love for you was bulletproof but you're the one who shot me" from a Pierce the Veil song. Ryan grabs her by her waist and tries to kiss her but before he gets the chance to a tear runs down her cheek. Ryan wipes away the tear and pulls her close, Ariel rests her head on his shoulder. "I never meant to hurt you." He whispers to her.

        "But you did hurt me," Ariel lifts her head up "You broke me inside and out, I can barely look at myself in the mirror anymore."

        "I'm going to fix this." Ryan says, he lets go of Ariel and takes out his phone then hands it to her, she looks at the lock-screen. It's of the two of them kissing. "At the end of the night you are still the only girl on my mind Ari. I love you, I always have, but the void you left when you moved...It hurt."

        She looks up from the phone. "But I still came back like I had promised, didn't I? Yes I did...But I didn't come back to have you not be with me. This isn't the first time you have done this, what if you got one of them pregnant? What would happen to us?"

        "None of them are pregnant with my child, nor will they ever be unless it's you, I wanted to wait to do this but..." Ryan takes a knee. "will you take this ring, as an honor of my love to you, a promise that I will never leave your side?" He takes a ring out of his wallet, it is only a promise ring but Ariel's knees still weaken at the sight of it. She nods as he stands up and she takes him into a large embrace. She lets go of him and leans back, kissing him deeply. He smiles and takes her hand, putting the ring on as if they were engaged. He then wraps his arms around her and picks her up, takes her to the living room downstairs and lies her on the couch. Ryan picks out the movie "Lady and the Tramp and puts it in the blue-ray player, then hops onto the couch next to Ariel and grabs her, pulling her close to his chest and lies down, him acting as a big spoon. 

        Ryan's phone goes off and Ariel looks at it, then looks at Ryan who just shakes his head, she smiles and lies her head down, falling asleep in the warmth of his comforting arms, knowing that he will never leave her side again.
