"Hurry up. You are going to be late again." Hashley's mother said to her in an angry tone. "Today is your first day at that school and I don't want you to get late."
Hashley was now a high school student and today was her first day at school. She was an average student. She didn't pass the entrance test with good grades. That is why her mother was a bit angry with her. Her father worked outside the country. She was the only child of her parents.
"New school, new friends, new teachers, what if no one likes me? What if no one talks to me? What if they bully me?" She was eating her breakfast and all these thoughts were coming into her mind. She was attending the only girl's school in the city. Then she went to the bus stop and headed towards her new school with all these thoughts in her mind. When she entered the school, teachers were standing at the gate and guiding students to their classes. She asked about her class and entered into a class. When she entered, she sat at the back. There were eight girls in that class. All of those girls came towards her and said: "at last a new girl has come to our class. We thought that no one would come." One of them asked her to sit in the front row with her. They asked her name and were so kind, friendly, and polite with her. One of them said "it is easier to understand the lecture at the front row" Hashley just nodded her head and said yes politely. She was so happy that all her thoughts about girls and the new school were wrong.
A girl named Amanda came to her. She was so nice and polite. She always had a smile on her face. Hashley liked her the most. Amanda said: "our first lecture is on biology" Hashley nodded and took out the book. When she took out the book everyone was shocked and looked at her. "In which grade are you in?" Amanda asked. "Grade nine", Hashley replied. Rina said " but this is grade ten" Then everyone began to laugh. "It means that I have to leave?" She asked. They all said: "unfortunately yes" Everyone was upset. Even Hashley was also upset. She said to them "nice to meet you all" and Amanda showed her new class "grade nine" to her.
She entered the class and asked someone that "is this seat free?" That girl nodded and she sat there. No one even greeted her or asked her name.
There was a girl who was so much proudest among all girls. The teacher entered the class and said "good morning students" everyone greeted her. Then she began to ask everyone their name. The teacher said: "there are two new girls in our class" Teacher asked the new girl her name and she said "Amber". Anna said that she is my cousin. Then, the teacher asked the name of Hashley. The teacher said: "Today our first lecture is on literature, everyone takes out your literature books."
