It was a strange feeling, being suspended between fully conscious and totally asleep. This is where Calavanya found herself, hearing bits and pieces of people talking, but not having enough strength to even open her eyes. She felt things, though. Sensations of pain in her shoulder, pressure applied along with a bandage, then simply... nothing. There she lay, in a healing room in the king's halls of Greenwood, recovering from her unfortunate skirmish with orcs. Her body needed time to recover, she knew that. But she also knew she wanted to see her niece and make sure Merilwen made it back. These two thoughts caused her eyes to snap open, her fatigue momentarily forgotten as she sat up in her bed.

"My lady, please, you shouldn't be moving!" A concerned, male voice met her ears. Turning to the side, Calavanya was met with a brunette haired elf, rushing over towards her. His dark blue robes swished behind him, the jars of herbs he was organizing forgotten.

"I need to see my niece and my friend. Please, where are they?" Confusion showed on the elf's face before his eyes lit up and he smiled.

"Oh, yes, the elfling and Lady Merilwen?" At Calavanya's nod, he continued. "They are both fine, in fact Merilwen is taking care of the elfling now. The poor thing, as soon as you lost consciousness, she became upset and Merilwen was the only one to calm her down when she returned a few minutes later." Calavanya simply nodded, breathing out a sigh of relief that both of them were alright.

"May I see them?"

The elf hesitated before saying, "I think it best if they visited you. That wound on your shoulder was serious. Any lower and you would have been beyond saving. It hit a major artery, but luckily it wasn't too close to your heart. You need to rest for the time being." Calavanya reluctantly nodded, not having enough strength to put up a fight. "You should also know this is the first Merilwen has left your side. I insisted you would be fine and she should go eat some dinner." Looking outside, the sun was setting, letting Calavanya know she had been out for quite some time.

"How long was I out for?"

"Since you were brought to me this morning, the entire day, around fifteen hours. I can go fetch Merilwen and your niece for you now, if you wish." Calavanya nodded, the elf standing up to leave. She asked him one last question.

"What is your name?"

"Arandur, my lady." With that, he left, leaving Calavanya to her own thoughts. She couldn't help but let her mind wander to Legolas, Thranduil, and Feredir. Were they alright? Were any of them hurt? Did the orcs manage to poison anyone else? Did Thranduil get poisoned again? What of the rest of the guards? Did reinforcements come, or were they left to fend for themselves? There weren't enough of them to fend off a large orc pack. Thoughts like this kept racing through her mind, and there was no way she could stop them.

The sounds of a door opening, hushed whispers, and childish babble met Calavanya's ears, breaking her focus on her thoughts. Merilwen, Tauriel, and Arandur came into the healing hall, Merilwen holding Tauriel in her arms. Merilwen broke her conversation with Arandur, who excused himself to let the two friends catch up. Merilwen rushed over to Calavanya, concern and relief on her face.
