"Spidersong?" The creamy colored queen burst throught the fern tunnel to the medicine cat den. "We need you. Silverstream is having her kits!"

Sunstar blinked, the morning sun poring out of a crack in his den's curtain. He stood up and stretched, then pushed aside the mossy curtain and padded to camp. He was named leader a few sunrises ago, and he was greeted with a pair of healthy, beautiful kits. The camp was already bustling with activity, and Owlclaw, the deputy, was giving out orders. "Don't you think you should be in the nursery now?" Sunstar asked, walking up to the deputy. Owlclaw smiled, looking down at her swollen belly. "You're right." She mewed. "Shadowfur!" A big black cat with sleek fur padded up, and rubbed nuzzles with Owlclaw. "I'm moving into the nursery." She meowed. Shadowfur's jaw dropped, and he began laughing. "It's really happening!" He purred. "I'll take her to the nursery." Sunstar mewed. "I'm on my way there." Shadowfur nodded. "Congrats!" He mewed.

Once Owclaw had settled in next to Dapplecloud, who had had her litter a moon ago, he walked over to Silverstream. He laid down next to her, careful not to wake the sleeping cat. "My beautiful kits..." He whispered. Petalkit, who was named after her ginger-white almost pink pelt, suckled, while her brother, who remained nameless, slept beside her. He was a mirror image of his father, from the striking ginger pelt, to the creamy white blotches on his paws and chest.

He began to rise, but Silverstream woke up. "Sunstar!" She purred, opening her eyes. "What happened gene I was gone?" He meowed, laying back down. "Petalkit played with Dapplecloud's litter, you know- Ghostkit, Maplekit, and Rosekit, and I have a name for our son." She meowed. As if it was planned, the small kit began to wake up, just barely opening his eyes. "Wow..." Sunstar meowed. The kit had large, electrifying green eyes, just like his mother's. "I'll calm him Jadekit."
