Journey beginning

I'm Saruto Uzumaki, my parents are Sarada Uchiha and Boruto Uzumaki. I'm 13 years old and about to become a genin. I unlocked my sharingan when my mom died. I was only 7. My big brother hasn't but he has unlocked his byakugan which I hear is extremely powerful. My dad and brother are always telling me how proud they are and how proud mom would be for how well I do in school.

I walk into the classroom and instantly all heads turn toward me but I ignore them. After all, most of them aren't worth talking to anyway. Konohamaru walks in and immediately announces that he will be the proctor for the graduation exam. "You're gonna be doing 1 on 1 matches, winners graduate, losers fail." He smiles.

Murmuring begins to spread through the room. I clear my mind and think to myself. There are 30 of us in the class, and only 15 of us will graduate. I glance around and think to myself that this'll be easy. I've known Konohamaru since I was little. He was mom and dad's sensei I've been told. Denki, my teacher, turns on a screen with match ups written on it.

I scan over the match ups and see that I'm someone from an unknown clan to me. What a bore, not even anyone challenging. I look over it some more to see that my cousin Hino is going against someone from the aburame clan. I just hope he can avoid those insects. It would suck if I passed and he didn't. Aunt Himawari trained him well though. As well as uncle Shikidai. He's smart enough to realise all this and his Byakugan will help him avoid being surprised so I stop worrying.

Battles go on and I wait impatiently for mine. My fight is called and I jump down to the battle arena from a balcony. "Rules are as follow, you fight until one party gives up or cannot fight any longer, if you step out of the arena circle you are disqualified, the use of ninja tools is prohibited as well as any ninjutsu used with intent to kill." I yawn and stretch my arms up. "Begin."

I activate my sharingan and dash so fast my opponent has no time to react before I send her flying with a punch to her gut. She lands right next to the edge of the ring. Victory is mine. I walk forward and begin to form the hand signs for wind style: breakthrough. I inhale sharply and blow. She turns into a log as the gust hits and I feel a kick to my knee knocking me off balance. I jump back before she can follow up on her attack. I look in her eyes and cast a genjutsu of spiders crawling up her legs to give myself a chance of knocking her out of the ring while she's distracted. As planned she begins stumbling and frantically swatting at her body. Giving me the perfect chance. "Wind style: Gale Palm." She is sent flying out of the ring and into a wall.

"Saruto Uzumaki is the winner." I release her from my genjutsu and help her up before returning to my spot on the balcony to wait for Hino's fight. 2 fights later I hear him get called and a i look up. The instructor relays the rules and states for them to begin. I've trained with Hino for a couple years now. We're both 13 which is the new minimum age for becoming a genin. I'm sure he'll win since we've been training together since we were 5 but I activate my sharingan to watch the fight. Hino has his byakugan activated and isn't moving, but neither is his opponent. Hino was always the type to wait for you to make a move and capitalize on your mistakes. Hino jumps forward right before insects surge from the ground where he was standing and jabs his opponent directly in the stomach with 2 fingers. The Aburame falls to the ground and Hino is declared the winner after his opponent is confirmed to be unconscious.

Teams Will be assigned tomorrow so Hino and I decide to walk home together  we joke and play around as we walk. I stop in front of him and enter my sparring stance. He smiles and does the same, we each activate our dojutsu and begin to trade blows. We each land a few good ones before we jump back and I send a Fireball jutsu at him he dodges and sends out his shadow paralysis which I evade and launch a lightning style: thunder clap arrow which he sidesteps and hurls water style: water bullets back. I dodge and we begin laughing as we continue home.

When I get home I say goodbye to Hino and head upstairs to go to sleep.
