~Just a little short story I wrote last year a few days before Christmas~

You just came home from a long day at the beach with your two kids Ethan and Cassie "come on you two twinnies, let's get inside" they began to grab their bags, and you got the rest of the stuff, then unlocks the door as they run inside dropping their things and headed to the play room. You then walk back to the car and unloaded everything "Cassie, Ethan, are you two hungry?" They both come running from the play room, grabbing a stool and standing on it, leaning on the bench "yes mummy, I want a nutella sandwich" says Ethan, the Cassie nods eagerly "okay, how about I make you a sandwich, then when you two finish we can decorate the Christmas tree after".
I grabbed the bread out and put nutella on both of the sandwich to them, as they ran to the lounge room watching tv "don't forget to clean up the mess in the play room" I yell out to them, as I start putting things away. It was tough looking after four year old twins without their dad because he's in the band Of Mice & Men, and he is currently touring. Yes their dad and my husband is Austin Carlile. This was the first Christmas the kids are spending it without him, we skype and call him whenever we get the chance, I know he loves music so we support him 100%, it does suck not being able to see him a lot of the time.
"Mummy, mummy, we finished cleaning the toy room" Cassie snaps me out of my thought, after putting their clothes into the basket, I grabbed three bags from underneath the bed and took them to the lounge room as we sat there I opened up all the boxes with the decorations "okay, the boxes that I have opened, you can hang them, and after we're done, I'll put the lights on okay?" right after I said that those two just got so excited to decorate the tree for Christmas, I sat there wrapping Austin's star wars towel and shirt into one and then star wars movie in the other "have you two wrote your cards as I told you to last night?" they both nodded and handed it to me, and I stick the cards on.
"go and put the present for daddy under the tree then you can continue to decorate" I begin to wrap up the little small box for Austin, it killed me inside that he wasn't coming home this Christmas, but to keep the kids happy I took them to get presents for their dad, just so we can put them under the tree, as I finished wrapping, I put a bow on it and put it into the little cute puppy gift bag I bought along with the letter "look mummy we finished putting it up" Ethan said to me, I look up in awe after that "that looks amazing, I shall put the lights up, wanna help mummy?" they both nodded, I get up and grabbed the lights out of the box untangling it.
Ten minutes after hanging the lights up, Cassie walks up to get the star from the table, handing it to me "here mummy" I just chuckle "how about I'll lift you two up and you can put the stars together and then you'll get change and go to bed" "yes mummy" they both said at once, I picked them up and they both held the star in one hand and put it up .As soon as they put them down, they ran into their room and put on their pjs, as soon as I walked into their room they were already dressed "don't forget to brush your teeth or Santa won't give you your presents when you wake up tomorrow morning.
The twins brushed their teeth and then went to bed "night mummy, love you" says Ethan "night, night mummy, love chu" says Cassie right after "night twinnies mummy loves you too" I kissed them both on the head and they fell asleep straight away. I went and got the presents from my room and put them under the tree while the kids were still asleep, I then cleaned up the mess and went to bed, falling asleep after an exhausted day.
~next day~
"WAKE UP MUMMY, IT'S TIME TO OPEN OUR PRESENTS" says Cassie, jumping on the bed with Ethan all excited, I rub my eyes and then tackled both, tickling their tummy, they go into a giggling fit "let's head outside to the lounge room shall we?" they both nod and run outside, I then heard giggling "what's so-" I looked under the Christmas tree in awe, there he was, Austin asleep under the tree with a bow on his hair "aw, baby" I said to myself "daddy, daddy" says Ethan looking rather happy "wake up daddykins!" Cassie shakes Austin. He wakes up rubbing his eyes "oh hello my little ones, as he hugged the both of them "like your present?" they both had the biggest smiles on their face, even me!
"I thought I would surprise you _______ and come home for Christmas to see my beautiful Carlile family, as a present" he chuckles, causing me to laugh at it "so who's ready to open their presents, I you two something, he hands it to them, they rip their presents as fast as they could to find a pillow pet each for them, Cassie got a rainbow unicorn and Ethan got a blue dinosaur, I sit next to the tree, Austin on the other side, with the bow still in his hair "okay, this one is Cassie's that is from me, and this one is from nanna and poppy, since they are busy today to not come" Cassie walks off and opens hers, practically ripping the wrapping as fast as she could, I point to the present next to Austin "the one in the blue wrapper is for Ethan and the other is from me" Ethan takes it and sits down opening it.
I grab the small bag, "this one is for you babe" handing it to him, he reads the cards then blushes bright red, he looks up at me, and then proceeds to open the present which had two dog tag, one of them on each side had his and my full name engraved on it, and the other had his kids on each side "aw _______ that is the cutest thing baby" I just blushed. He then leaned over and kissed me, our lips fit perfectly together and that's what I loved. We then pulled apart and he leaned to grab medium size box and a little box "for you, m'lady" he's so lame but that's why I love him, I started to unwrap the medium box first, as I opened it there was a cute note on the card that read merry Christmas baby, I love you heaps. I hope we grow old together like we promised. x I just sat there blushing, as soon as I opened the box I just gasp at the necklace and matching earing "oh my god, this is just perfect baby" he just grinned and said "this isn't all, you got one more to open.
I then picked up the little box and opened the wrapper, as I opened the box I almost cried, it was the most beautiful ring Austin got me, I almost cried "I thought you needed an upgrade on your wedding ring, I know it isn't out anniver- I just cut him off and kissed him, more intense "ewy, mummy, daddy, stop kissing" says Ethan while him and Cassie making faces, we both laughed and whispered "its perfect" I took the old ring off an put the new one on "okay you two, you gotta give daddy his presents now, they both grabbed two of the presents as quick as they can and handed to him, both of them at once.
When he looked at the Christmas card he was almost in tears at how amazing it was "this is a wonderful card Cassie and Ethan" "Ethan and I worked on it together, he wrote it and I drew pictures of mummy, daddy, Ethan and I" I just smiled "aw, it looks good, I will take it with me when I am on tour". He then proceeds to open one of the present, when he saw the movie his face lit up "oh my god, this is my favourite one", the kids just laughed and so did I "don't get too excited babe, you got one more to open" he looks at me and says "oh, right". Grabbing the other present, he opens is and just laughs "okay, this is officially the best Christmas ever, you three have literally given me the best presents I could ask for".
He then pulls us all into a group hug and kisses our forehead, "okay you two, have a quick bath and get dressed, we're going to grandpa Carlile's house because he misses you and got presents for you two" with that they raced to the bathroom, we both got up and Austin puts his arms around me "you know, I think this is the best choice to marry you and have kids with you because this has to be one of the best Christmas I've ever had". I just blushed bright red and he leans in to kiss me, my thoughts were, 'this IS the best Christmas'.
