Miles slept against his father's chest for hours. No one could get Miles off of Elliot, but Elliot didn't mind it. He needed to feel his son's heart beating against his, especially since there weren't any updates on Olivia.

"I gotta go potty." Miles yawned as he sat up and looked at his father.

"Okay, c'mon." Elliot replied. He carried his son into the bathroom and helped him out when needed, before they walked out and headed back to Miles' bed. He hadn't been very vocal since the accident, so the doctors wanted to keep him since they were certain he was in shock.

"Mama saved me." Miles whispered as his father tucked him back into bed.

"I know she did, baby. She's an amazing Mama."

"Will she be okay?" Miles asked, and all Elliot could do was shrug. He didn't know if his girlfriend would ever come out of surgery, or if she was alive at all. She could be dead for all he knows, and no one was required to tell him.

Elliot climbed back into bed with his son before rubbing his back in hopes of getting him to fall asleep. It didn't end up happening, especially since Bernie was coming to the door to get her son.

"El, the doctor is waiting to talk to us. I'm here to sit with Miles."

"Okay. Miles, I will be right back with an update on Mama. Okay?"

"Okay." Miles whispered.

Elliot stood beside Serena and Doug. The doctor spoke, but Elliot didn't really absorb much of it. He felt like his head was filled with fog, and it was only because he was scared.

"Did you hear what he said?" Joseph asked, as he looked at his son.

"N-no, Dad. I couldn't hear or understand anything." Elliot frowned.

"He said that Olivia has a skull fracture, brain bleed, a broken arm, spinal fracture, and a lot of internal bleeding. She is really bad off." Joseph explained as calmly as possible. He hated to hear that his son's girlfriend, soulmate, might not make it.

"All of that from getting hit by a car? Dad, she got hit to save our child's life... and this is what happens?!" Elliot cried.

"Son, relax. Getting worked up isn't going to help Olivia and Miles. You need to pray and fight, because she can't fight for herself."

"I-i need to see her. Where is she?" Elliot whimpered.

"She is in the ICU. I don't think she is allowed visitors. So just go back to Miles and be with him."

"I. Need. To. See. Her." Elliot panted, as his heart beat out of his chest.

"Kid!" Joseph yelled, as Elliot slipped to the ground and gripped his chest.

"I NEED HER!" Elliot sobbed.

Elliot was sedated and put in Miles' room. Elliot slept until the next morning, and then he wandered to the ICU. He stood outside of Olivia's room, and saw Serena and Doug sitting beside their daughter's bedside.

"What are you doing up here?" Matthew asked, as he came up beside his sister's boyfriend.

"I needed to see her." Elliot breathed.

"She had a seizure last night, and they don't know how she'll be when she wakes up. If she wakes up." Matthew frowned.

"I can't imagine life without her, Matt. Your sister is my soulmate."

"I know she is, and she is my best friend. But she is really sick."

"Do you hate me and Miles?" Elliot asked, as he kept his eyes locked onto Olivia. She was bald now, and he knew how angry she'd be that they had to shave her head. She had been enjoying her longer hair, but now it was gone.

"She got hit protecting her son, Elliot. No one can hate you guys for that. But I think it's time you go home. Or go back to see Miles. Mom and Dad haven't even let me in there." Matthew sighed.

"I need to touch her... because this all seems really fake for me." Elliot whispered. Matthew nodded before opening the door a bit and exchanging words with his parents.

After a moment, Doug hesitantly stood and walked out into the hall. He hugged Elliot for a moment before looking at him.

"You can take my spot, Elliot. I gotta try to get ahold of Daniel, anyway. Just don't freak out again, because Olivia nor Serena need that energy."

"Yes, sir." Elliot breathed.

///

Elliot moved into the room and quickly made his way to the empty chair beside Olivia's bedside. He gently ran his fingers over her hand before pressing a soft kiss to it. Her hand felt cold and her skin was bruised.

"Hi, baby. It's me, El. I am so sorry that I didn't get here soon, especially since I was napping while you were dying." Elliot whispered.

"If we lose her, at least she died for a good reason. She died saving Miles, and she is madly in love with that little boy." Serena breathed.

"I'm going to marry her as soon as she is awake and doing better. I am going to marry her and make her the happiest woman."

"She'd love that. She loves you, Elliot. She always has... Olivia tries to keep her emotions hidden because she's scared of what people would think if they saw her true feelings, and that is why you two didn't get back together until recently."

"I will take care of her for the rest of our lives." Elliot sniffled. He and Serena started to cry, because just thinking about Olivia passing away was heartbreaking.

They didn't want to lose the light that is Olivia. The one that was so caring, understanding, and perfect. She is an amazing teacher, friend, girlfriend, sister, daughter, and mama. She had so many people that loved her, and so many people that would die a little bit when Olivia's heart stopped beating.
