A certain pair of green-eyes opened with much exhaustion, falling upon a girl sketching something on her notepad.
"What are you doing?" Irene asked, rubbing her eyes.
"Drawing."
"Drawing what?"
"Something~"
"And what is that something?"
Instead of telling her, Areum held up her notepad to Irene.
Stained with fingerprints of graphite and some eraser marks, the paper presented a realistic pencil drawing of a woman, sleeping soundly upon a feathery pillow.
"That's a pretty woman," Irene commented. For some reason, Areum laughed.
"Hmm? What is it?"
"It's you, Irene. I drew you..."
"How come? I mean, I'm no model, and I'm definitely not that peaceful when I sleep."
The brunette smiled without hesitance. "That's what you think. I thought you looked very pretty and after last night's events...I thought I could cheer you up!"
With those being her reasons, Irene couldn't help but smile widely. Out of nowhere, Areum gasped.
"Huh? What is it?"
Suddenly, the musician pinched Irene's cheeks, grinning like a kid in a candy store.
"You have dimples! It's so cute!"
"Isn't everything about me cute to you?" Irene said smugly.
"Yes, that's true...but I have a particular liking for dimples! Not sure why..."
The brunette looked at the girl in front of her with intent, keeping her fingers locked on her face. She traced her fingertip right under Irene's eye and then...
Her lips pressed against Irene's about as fast as she could blink. Then she was out the door, not waiting for Irene to come to the kitchen table.
And...she sat there, trying to process not just the kiss itself, but also the confidence that Areum had at that moment. She thought for sure that she'd be the first to ask...
Her thoughts were interrupted by the growling of her stomach. Right. Salmon may be waiting for her in the kitchen. As comfortable as her bed was, she still forced herself to peel away from it and trudged towards the kitchen.
Irene sat down next to Areum, pretending not to notice the blush on her face as a result of her prior action. Taking an extra waffle, Areum quickly began a conversation to derive her thoughts away from the innocent affection between them.
"You know, baking is very fun," the musician began. "I once made a strawberry shortcake with Hea and it turned out amazing. Maybe we could do that together before I go back, hmm?"
Before Irene could give her a reply, Mari's phone rang.
"Excuse me for a moment," Mari stated, walking away from the table.
After Mari left, Irene continued. "I think that would be an amazing idea, perhaps tomorrow? Today may be good too...When are you going back anyway?"
"In a few days from now. My supervisor gave me permission to stay for 8 days. And I'd like to spend the rest of my days with you!~" Areum claimed.
"I have some bad news."
The three turned to Mari, who didn't make eye contact with any of them as she sat back down.
"Mrs. Olsen and Mrs. Aune got into a car accident."
Irene's fingers trembled. She dropped her fork and, without thinking, stood and blurted out, "Are they ok? Did they get seriously hurt? Don't tell me they-"
