"Are you okay?" Johnny started, wiping his hands with a white cloth after serving the young pure alpha.
"Better," Jisung replied with a relieving sigh after taking a sip.
The older man just hummed as he also sat on a stool he's been always hiding behind the silver-striking counter.
Jisung continued to drink, sip after sip, until his first glass emptied. He looked up at the bartender, who's already looking at him.
Their eyes directly met and they laughed, with Johnny snatching the whiskey out of the younger man's grip and pouring it for him.
"I know what happened," he posed, easily snatching the young pure alpha's attention. "She's never been better."
"I think she's fine."
"Inside her room? No." Johnny poured a glass himself too and took a sip. "Not at all."
Jisung just chewed on his lower lip, not having any brains to answer or even release a single word.
His eyes were down on the sweet and bitter contents, his index finger brushing on the rim of the circular glass.
"How many days have it been?"
"Two weeks"
"Two weeks," Johnny nodded in agreement. "So I'll ask you again. Are you okay?"
Right. Two weeks.
Jisung never felt it first, but it was different.
The way his mind ran messily, the way his heart throbs, and his body troubled.
When his eyes will continuously find her, like it was always fated to land directly in her direction.
When they share the same cafeteria but never a table.
When they share the same entrance gate but never greet each other.
And when they share the same school, they are never a meter apart.
Jisung never felt it before, and it bothers him.
It was heavy, crawling on every vein inside him like wild spiders. Spreading their webs to every bone and making houses for every nerve.
Jisung longed for it. For her.
He could deny it for the first three days or for the first week.
Then, after that, he was sure that the beta would jump in front of him with big smiles and annoying pickup lines the following week.
But it was proven wrong again.
Jisung didn't see her again until this early morning, throwing frisbee with Hwang Hyunjin.
There, he saw her big smiles and heard her melodious laughs and snide remarks.
It was as early as seven; the sun isn't fully up yet, and the morning wind is still cool enough for summer.
